Re: Revell Derby Products Review

Sad to see a classic American hobby get outsourced to China. :/ So True !! The Revell Official BSA wheels are now being made in China as well :burningmad: !! So if you are buying replacement wheel set from Revell and you notice they are in the same type of container with a new style lid, check the ...

Re: Lets Ride The Rail!

KiaTia, If done right, Rail Riding is a great way to pick up speed, but you need to always consider the track you are running on !! Rail Riding works best on a track with a smooth center rail and good joints at each section. If you are running on a track with no center rail or maybe an old wood trac...

Re: Making Decals

My son wants a Red Wings Hockey sticker on the hood of the car. I haven't found anything the right size. I was thinking of printing something on my own. Has anyone made their own decal. If so could you share how you did this? Thanks Rising Creek, Check out this link to see a really cool Red Wings H...

Re: Inconsistent Race Times

Check to make sure one of your axles/holes isn't loose. I have seen cars where the axles/holes are loose and everytime the car hits the stop section, the axle would move slightly causing very erratic times each heat.

Re: Should I add 4 tenths of a gram of weight?

For what it is worth, be careful when adding/removing weight once a car is tuned and ready to go. If all the testing/tuning is done at one weight, that is the weight the car is set up to perform best at. Even slight changes in weight/weight distribution can sometimes throw a car out of balance. I ha...

Re: NEW Derby Monkey pinewood derby store...

Derby Monkey East does not sell "complete or mostly complete cars". Building the car is up to the Scout/Parent team. We offer advice, products and free use of our test track to help them build/tune their own car.

Yep. -T (1st was .02 s ahead of the rest, 2nd and 4th were using "old wheels"... 1999 vintage... ) Now that would raise a red flag for me, especially at a district or council level. I see your concern now, even though I have to admit, my sons and my buddy's son took 1-3rd last year at our...

Re: Graphite pads via water?

I'm curious to what is considered "breakaway" speed in the standings ? Lucky 13 Read Jobe for more accurate numbers, or dig here ... you should get the same number... typically, 0.01 s is enough ... you'll see it as a "step function" in the finish times... remember, at the top o...

Roosclan,

What are the guide pegs made of ? What if you just make some replacement guide pegs from the leftover BSA block ? This should satisfy the rule that was quoted by the Chairman.

Re: Rear Wheels Inside Out

When running a 1 gram BSA wheel and rear wheel cant, the wheel will actually "flatten out" when the car travels through the tracks transition causing some loss of speed. By reversing the wheel, you are actually running on a thicker/sturdier part of the BSA wheel (face side), which helps to...

Get a hold of Warren aka MrSlick. He had a supply of them from an old school race we did at PWDRacing.com. I think he may still have some of the individual kits for sale.

Re: New Wheels Made by Revell?

The part that confuses me is the statement... "Starting next year, we should be taking over manufacturing wheels for BSA. So all your wheel measurements for this year should change again next year". If they will be the same wheels that are currently out there (the "new" BSA wheel...
