Kit Blocks

Is it me or have the Kit Blocks for Cub scouts and AWANA got wider in the paqst couple of years? I can't seem to get my Pro-Body Tool II to fit around the block without sanding it down. Not a huge deal, just can't get the block squared like I would like.

Re: National Scouting Museum PWD 2010

My son has raced in this race. Pretty unorganized. The cars have a tendency to go off the track. The track is pretty old and you have to remember that everyone has access to this track all year around and it has been stepped on and anything else you can think of. They give good prizes. No trophies. ...

Re: Lap (Heat) times on a 49ft BestTrack..

I configured our laser get to get triggered by the starting pins. This way the timer starts as soon as the gate is dropped just like the switch plus all cars are at the same point once the timer starts. Then what is the advantage of using the laser Starter? Why not just use the regular starter? It ...

Re: Lap (Heat) times on a 49ft BestTrack..

Also, one other thing that I noticed was that WIRL in 2007 had the mechanical start gate and the average times were around 3.0 for Pure Stock.

In 2008 they had a Laser starter, and they had faster times, average 2.8-2.9.

Just a observation.
You guys Thoughts?

Re: Lap (Heat) times on a 49ft BestTrack..

Looks like the best time for the Pure Stock(Closest to BSA rules) is 2.849 with a 42' Best in WIRL 2008. Now that is a fast car. You can't do anything with the wheels except lightly sand. Seems to me that the COM has to be right on. Also has to have great alignment. You guys thoughts on making a car...

Re: Lap (Heat) times on a 49ft BestTrack..

blcrow33- 3.09 on 42ft Best Track? Wow, thats fast. My son averaged 3.152 on our 42ft Best and he won the Pack overall, no one came close. But we have had problems with our Best Track since we bought it, its hard to get the pieces to fit together properly and our cars bounce while going down the tra...

Re: GPRM Help!!

Not as easy as I thought. I still can't get the software(Grand Prix Manager) to recognize the Timer. I don't know what port the Timer is connected to. I tried to test in all of the ports and on one of them the timer Details say "Re", and then I got a "*", but it still doesn't rec...

Placement of the front and back

This year our Pack's pinewood derby does not allow extended wheel base. My son was trying to pick out a design with the normal wheel base. Does it matter if the longer part of the block of wood(length from the axel slots to the front of the wood) goes to the front or to the back. I'm thinking if it ...

GPRM Help!!

I have the latest version of GPRM and am running a mock race. Everything went well until I made it to the Grand Finalist Race. When I go to make a schedule it tells me " There are no racers that have passed inspection yet from the 'Grand Finals' Group." When I click back to the Registratio...

Re: Awana Regional/State Grand Prix

Was there today. I posted on it, before I saw yours. My friend's son was the the one that had the red, white and blue car that won every race today and got to sign the track. They know how to build a car. My son and I have to race against them every year in Cub scouts & Awana. Needless to say, we...

I bought a set of these and they will not fit a BSA wheel. They are too big.
