Re: Where do you get your trophies from?

Ditto with the Crown awards...they were just ordered and have not arrived yet, but they have a fairly large selection and fair pricing. Plus the site is real easy to navigate. awardsco.com is also another site to check... I have found pretty good deals on EBAY as well the last few years... good luck...

Re: SuperTrack

OK, I had some time to run the calculations (bearing they are correct) A "rough" estimate running the ips out to the ten-thousands, the split is 0.0762 inches/sec between 1st and 2nd place and that would (if I'm correct) put the difference at right around 13/64th of an inch in difference. ...

SuperTrack

Was curious if anyone would know the difference in time/length on a 35' Supertrack. We finished our District/Council race yesterday and finished 1st in the District and finished second in the Council race out of 78 entries (we are happy :D) The difference we lost by was .0013 sec. The winner's avg t...

3Wheel question

Curiosity struck again. I see a lot of people use the 3-wheeler RR idea. Several ideas of what to do with the non-dominate raised wheel keeps coming up. Cant the wheel or don't cant the wheel, etc. My question arises because I have not heard of anyone just gluing the wheel to the axle head so that i...

Re: Graphite Pads - Pass it or Reject it?

hmmm...the old "if you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin" saying is up for debate. Is it cheating or just trying to interpret the rules as to gain an innovative advantage that the rules don't explicitly say you "can not" do? Case in point, a washer is a washer is a washer.....everyo...

Re: Alignment question

Thanks, yip...I was confused. The track is the Super track. I rember they even had the flags installed..hehe Thinking we might try to hit the alignment straight as best we can and cant the wheels. There is a lot of lane to move around in (which worries me) But we did OK last year. We placed 16th out...

Alignment question

We won our pack race on a wooden center guided track. The district race is on a plastic "BEST" track that uses edge guide rails. What the best way to set up a car for this? I assume one could RR.

Thankyou STAN and Cory

I would like to thank Stan and Cory as well as others for providing the much appreciated insight on the boards as well as the charts for PPN.... As acting chairperson, I decided to get away from the double-elim that we have "always" used. The races went smooth and we received several great...

Re: Screaming Mimi

My only question was...after picking myself off the floor laughing, did you file that thing IFR or VFR?
Were you wearing a flight suit and who cleared that thing to land? That was great to see the blur screaming under the finish..LOL ;)

Wheel to body clearance

This has probably been discussed before but I can not find the info What wheel hub to body clearance is best? I've heard anywhere from 5 playing cards thickness to 2 business cards...etc (I have nothing to measure the clearance other than these type of layman measurements) I would think more clearan...

No center guide strip

OK, Our pack has a standard 4 lane wood track with a center guide strip. But, the problem is that if we go on to Districts, they have a plastic track (thinking it's a "best" track) with NO center guide strip/rail, just lane separators. What's the best way to setup a car to run on a track w...

Re: Advancing to finals - how many do you do??

Thanks for the responses. Just trying to dig up a few different ideas to pitch before a final decision is made. The pack has always run double elims per Den and transfered each Den winner to the Pack finals (also double elim). I don't mind it really, but the size of the dens vary so much, I feel tha...

Re: Advancing to finals - how many do you do??

What would you suggest for a small pack (under 30)? We have always ran double elimination per den and advanced the den winners to the "pack finals" like stated above. I need a better alternative. I feel we are eliminating too many fast cars via this method. We can send 5 cars to District a...

Re: Stretching the rules

well, Reynolds heavy duty foil was what we used. Seem to work as we had hoped...We were the fastest of the 5 cars we sent to district, so we (me and my boy) were happy :D Long story there.... If I remember, we placed around 16th out of 72 cars, so that was respectable given the fact that we did not ...

Stretching the rules

Ok, my question is what I consider a "grey area". We tried this at the district race last year, which was waaayyyy liberal in my opinion...They only used the rules that were stated in the official kits. This left way too much to interpretation. But, anyhow, Since the rules stated "No ...
