Great point TAL. I should have specified that the starting gate is on the stage at our church so the kids are still able to stage their own cars.TAL wrote:...Remember though , the top of the track is around 4 foot high already and will probably require a stool for the kids to stage a car during fun runs...

Re: Track Set-up Guidelines?
Our grand prix team built risers out out plywood and 2 x 4's wide enough to allow for leveling. It is off the floor about two and a half feet.FAST Racing wrote:...What has worked best for getting the track "off the floor" , So the Kids can see the racing better? Still be able to level in both directions.

Re: Track Set-up Guidelines?
We level ours in both planes.
As far as height, I have seen anywhere from 46" to 50".
Good luck.

...Car design in my opinion is the only thing I haven't push my son to concentrate on. Fat Elvis I believe that I read in one of Max V's news letters that a car body with a rounded rear end showed the most favorable results in his wind tunnel testing. The car I sent to WIRL in July ( http://www.wir...

Re: Wing or wedge?
I personally like both designs, with a rounded back end.
I would focus my attention on alignment. That is what's going to carry your momentum to the end of the track

I really hope this does not turn into a "my board is better than your board thread". I happen to enjoy both boards. I have seen people learn and share on both boards. I have also seen people be chastised and made feel unwelcome on both boards. I am heavily invovled in WIRL. I love t...

Re: Rules changes form one race to the next
Why would they have to see the point of the axle. All you have to see is the head of the nail, if there is a head on each axle then theres no way it could be a solid one peice shaft cause you wouldn't be able to put the wheels on. There are several types of aftermarket axles that are not sol...

That's why I like to use Super Glue Gel.2kids10horses wrote:Crazy glue is actually a poor choice for axles. The reason? It's very thin, and tends to run along the length of the axle, very quickly. You might accidently get some in the wheel hub.

Re: Rules changes form one race to the next
Congratulations to you and your Tiger on the win! ...any ideas what i should do thanks If the judges want to see all of the axle, you can pull the axles (mark the heads first with a marker so you can replace them as close as possible to where they were) and cut slots into the drilled holes. That wou...
