Re: Bobcat " Skid-Steer" Loader.

That's totally awesome!

It's definitely worth being in the magazine, you did a great job and you can hardly tell it's even a derby car, kind of a double take.

Re: 2012 awana cars

That's really great! Especially for the Indy car. Did you run the jet down the track when they played the National Anthem before the races? We always had Miss Hoopeston come in and sing the Anthem for us each year. I always thought about setting up 3 planes on strings to fly over the track at the be...

Nice job! Very well done!

That Jet looks fast just sitting there! Can't wait to see the paint job on it! 8)

Re: Inadvertent three wheeler

I have made 2 cars with slots, both have the non DFW 1-2 16th of a inch elevated without trying. Funny. I now understand the silliness of the "all four wheels touching" rule. Our council still uses the 4 wheels rule and I am hoping to get them to change this and here's why I believe it is...

Re: Graphite or Alignment - who knows??

I know a lot of people talk about how re-graphiting (if that's a word  ) tends to slow the car down but in my experience, everytime we have re-applied graphite after racing, the car always gets faster, even on the first run. Especially when we rub graphite on the inner edge of the rail-ride...

Excellent job, love the batmobile, has that rugged-tough look and very detailed.

Does the cab-over tilt forwards, that would be cool.

Just heard the C.W. Mcall song today "Convoy" This is the Rubber Duck, you gotta copy? :driving:

Wow! Nice job! Very detailed and the bucket works

Would love to hear how it does down the track.

Re: Rail Riding - "How To Guide"

I liked derbyspeed's response, which highlights the fact that the study really did not involve rail-riding at all. To draw additional conclusions about the benefits of rail guides within the realm of rail-riding then, an apples-to-apples test would be helpful." Actually in all fairness the tes...

Re: Glued wheel?

Would there be a benefit to putting the ndfw wheel on backwards, and then tow out to help with wind, but not have the "cup" effect on the wind? This does seem like a good idea, but I would almost bet that it would be worse and causing unwanted turbulance with the rear wheel. Plus the whee...

Re: Rail Riding - "How To Guide"

Perhaps, and Mr. Pope posits, the alignment and cambering made to intentionally rail ride will make the losses of the dominant wheel less than what the fixed wheel would be (even if the fixed wheel were polished on the inside where the contact would occur)? Further thoughts or comments? I also beli...

Re: Rail Riding - "How To Guide"

However, a Dominant Front Wheel with positive camber is sliding a much smaller distance... since it is almost rolling on the rail. I think this is the secret to your answer. Stan brings up a good point, the dominant wheel is rolling and the "feeler wheel" would just be sliding. I'm defini...

Re: Mowin' Down the Competition

Thanks, the mower deck is actually all the way under the tractor, I was afraid it would hit the track at the curve but it didn't. Should've turned the deck on so it would blow the 1st place car off the track - LOL!

A lot of fun to see it go down the track.

Re: Star Wars cars

Clone Trooper - Crude but functional. Our 2nd year running in scouts, took 1st place at pack and 2nd place at council (racing that is, not even close on best of show). That was the first year that we even knew they had council races. Was a big surprise for us. I couldn't go to the council race and I...
