Re: 4.9 vs 5.0
Actually doing the math (based on Max-V's testing w/graphite) I'm coming up w/ ~ .008 over 4 runs. Track length in play obviously, but might be a flip of the coin.

We clean our pack track's rubberized stop section w/simple green periodically. Works very well.

Re: Son won BIG St. Louis district race today
And yes Luke's car was absolutely legal. Like you stated our rules are rather liberal and there isn't much you can do to skirt the rules. IMO I don't believe canting 1 gram wheels is a good idea. Don't think it's a good idea to run on the weakest part of the flimsy 1 gram wheel. We've got the best r...

Re: Rail Rider tool question
What we do is place a piece of paper between the exposed part of the axle and the bender. Make sure the bender is perpendicular/parallel to press and that all pieces are VERY well supported in your non-striking hand when striking. Using this method we haven't scratched any of the 8 axles we've bent ...

Public venue pinewood derby race coordination
Anyone have any experience with race coordination at a public venue ?
My sister works for a radio station in Chicago and was asked if she could set up a father/son pinewood derby race at a local large sporting goods store.
Any ideas/information at all would be appreciated.
Thanks.
