Re: Pinecar single axle kits

We're getting ready for a YMCA Indian Guides/Princesses pinewood derby. It's a huge event with 500+ cars racing in one day. The rules are pretty open, however, we are required to use the wheels and axle included in the Pincar kit. This kit has a single axle with a plastic cap on each end. My questi...

Re: Girl Scout race coming.. Our box has old wheels???

Ok, The girlscout races are always a bit less competitive (though some want to win, including my kid). Rules are never the best. She comes home with the box her troop leader got her. Its a new kit with old wheels. I can only guess that means we will have a mix at this years race... So what do we do...

Re: Wheel Comparison Opinion Needed!

In most races, bending axles isn't illegal, however, in most races, H tread or V taper IS against the rules. I know in our district (same council as yours, just southeast of you) we cannot use wheels with any kind of tread modification. Instead of those two types of wheels, if you arent prohibited f...

Re: What would you guy have done?

I would approach him with the sign and ask him if he has trouble reading.

Or better yet, inform the race officials, NO ONE should be touching another scouts car.

Re: Air brushing / compressors. do you use them ?

I have a Cambell Hausfeld 2 gallon compressor I got at Lowes on black friday for 59 bucks with a free nailer/stapler, and a 15 dollar harnor freight spray gun. Both work real well for what I am doing, non intricate work. I also own an Iwata BCR Revolution airbrush that worked great til I bent the ne...

Re: How many new wheels versus old in the market

If you look at the box, it will have one of 2 stamps, if there is a Z stamp, it's old wheels, if it says IN0809 it has new wheels.

Our local Michael's has the product, on an endcap near the models, along with the standard PineCar product.

My grandson wanted General Lee, so im taking artistic license by using a 2009 Challenger body just for fun - please forgive the sacraledge. :-)
That 2009 Challenger is a beauty! Just call it the General Lee Redux :) Or maybe the General Petraus? :)

Re: How come no one puts aerodynamic "fenders" on cars?

There are 2 good reasons for turning the wheels inside out. On a full weight wheel, when prepped with a body cone of some type, running the wheels reversed has less of a braking surface than if the wheel was turned normally. On lightened wheels, specifically the 1 gram and lower, reversing the wheel...

Re: Our first 2010 car

Not only is it available, you'll get better results with your airbrush. You can get all of Spaz Stix' colors in ready to airbrush, no thinning required. They have flourescents, color-shift paints, glow in the dark, etc.... http://www.spazstix.com/index.php I checked them out, nice stuff, and not to...

If your local hobby shop doesn't stock it, they should be able to get it within a few days. It's also available through http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=spaz+stix and http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=spaz+stix&x=9&y=17 . The d...

Re: Our first 2010 car

Dupplicolor makes a chrome paint in a can as well, saw it at Advance Auto Parts. True, but it doesn't provide the mirror-like chrome finish that the Spaz Stix does (when used on the underside of lexan), or the Alsa MirraChrome or Killer Chrome (which are a chrome deposition spray and waaaaay expens...

Re: New Wheels Made by Revell?

Looks like once this snow ends, I'll be headed to Michael's :) Were these in the model section? We often see ad coupons for Michaels 50% off any single item. If those works on these wheels, that would be quite the bargin. It would if it were good for more than one item. Michaels will also...
