Thanks for all the discussion. I've effectively been talked out of a 3 lane track, but I'm stopping at 4. 6 sounds great, but we don't need it to be successful. I was already sold on a 4 lane timer. The only question was track. I understand pack finances, pack plans, pack numbers, and pack stability are all pack specific issues that can't be answered by a board query. I was just more or less looking for experiences racing 25-40 boys on a 3 lane vs a 4 lane ...

I'm in the same boat, but I was trying to figure out if I needed a 3 lane or a 4 lane track. We had the popcorn sales to buy our own track this year. We had been borrowing a 4 lane wooden track. We intend to buy a 42' besttrack, and microwizard k3gp. We have software, but I can't get to it right now...

I used regular clear packing tape on last year's car and painted over it. By now, my son has broken off a rear wheel twice and the front spoiler once, but the tape is still in place.

Thankks, there is certainly plenty of info here on this site and on the web, but so far, my son likes books he can take with him, so I'm really looking for a decent book. I doubt either one I mentioned is bad or wrong, but I thought I'd ask...

My tiger cub son is really into books right now, and really enjoyed his first derby. He did almost everthing, except cutting the car. We took turns polishing axles. I'd like to buy us a pwd book, perhaps Dominant by Design or Pinewood Derby Speed Secrets. Anybody have either one? Is one cooler/bette...
