Re: "News Truck" with Mini-Video Camera

Pretty cool. Is it 2.4ghz? Does it have an internal battery or do you still need to add one? Will you be able to bring it in under 5oz? Hopefully, the pack will have a projector running that you can hook your laptop to. Unfortunately, the video would be better if the other cars in the heat were ahea...

Re: The Tom Daniel's Red Baron car

Speed, your Red Baron Rod looks a lot likt the 'Hard Noze' series of Hot Wheels from several years back.

Whoda, great job on yours. Are the velocity stacks Lego? Did you paint the Iron Cross on the radiator? The machine guns and the spiked helmet really make the car.

Re: Problems with car on stop section

How about using a small piece of bicycle tube on the back? It should grip well and you'll have lots extra after you cut up the tube.

Re: Iron on film instead of primer and paint

Sebastian, baking it wouldn't work. You have to iron the Monokote or Ultracote into place to even have it stick. These films are pretty tough and have a nice, slick surface. One year at Christmas, I Monokoted all the presents. My family was very unhappy with me. They said something about "We sh...

They look good, Speedbuggy. With the title of the thread, I expected a Delorean DMC-12 festooned with flux capacitors and such.

I guess the alignment was a little off. It ran considerably better backwards than forwards.

How hard does it dry? Is it gummy at all or is it like fiberglass resin when it's fully cured?

Re: Our first 2010 car

I haven't clear-coated it yet. I might just try the Minwax polyurethane that Sarge used before I sand it back down and respray it. It might be the gloss I need, if it doesn't react with it.

Re: Tucker's Hulk

Tucker came in 2nd. Now, we have to mount the Hulk figure's torso on the car as a driver.

Re: Jakes 2010 cub scout car

How about spraying the car with a mold release agent and then building up a thick shell of the polyurethane? It would be sweet to have a clear car.

It's a nice idea to show the others what a single mom can do, but don't completely rule out asking the other parents for some tool time. It's a great way to bond with them and their sons while working with your son.
