Re: Graphite pads via water?

Why not send the email, give the DE a link to this discussion, so he can see it's not the scouts disgruntled uncle, but has been discussed by those here that have a lot of experience with PWD. You can even give him my name and tel. # or email, I will be glad to speak with him about it. Just shoot me...

Re: Graphite pads via water?

I messed up the quoting from Fast Seb. Sorry about that. To quote Teeeman :I am doubting that anyone who might be in a position to overturn the DQ's is following this topic anymore, if they ever were. If so, enjoy your horse pulp. ;) Then they are doing a disservice to the scouts they are supposed ...

Re: Graphite pads via water?

I quite agree. I just don't see how beating the horse anymore will accomplish anything. They already are working to prevent such problems at their next race. But you have another person trying to say that those "graphite pads" can be formed naturally, with no ill intent. Future changes do...

Re: Graphite pads via water?

How was I casting dispersions on anyone? I just asked a question because I have seen that before. :idk: Well, your question could easily be interpreted as an insinuation. That is how it struck me. My suggesting would be to ditch the 31 pages of rules and adopt something a little more user friendly....

Re: Graphite pads via water?

BBR, Thanks for sharing. This issue has already been beat beyond death. The District PWD committee was severely hampered by the rules and procedures put in place by the District Committee. Folks are working very hard to correct these problems. Hopefully next year's race will be better because of th...

Re: Graphite pads via water?

If you want to see if graphite by itself will clump or look like "graphite pads" as described in this thread, take a white Derbyworx SS wheel, polish the bore, lube it with graphite( whatever brand, it doesn't matter), then run them on a car for ten or twenty runs, then inspect. Relube and...

Laser gate problem

I have a brand new 42 ft 4 lane Best Track with a MicroWizard K3 timer and a laser gate. Last night, in preperation for our up coming derby, we attatched our brand new skirt to the track. After that, the boys wanted to run some cars down the track so we did. The cars ran .2 faster than previously. I...

Re: New Product from BestTrack-The Lift Kit

Got a tip the other day from Mr. Slick about lift kit. Instructions say to space the lift kit uprights 3 inches from the end of each section. Mr. Slick suggested spacing them 21 inches from the ends of the sections. This gives you 42 inches in between uprights. I did it to mine and it made the track...

Re: Need some advise from the experts

The first thing I did was to draft a set of rules. Thanks to 3Cub, we now have a set of rules in place that will allow a level playing field for the pack derby as well as giving us a little wiggle room for improvement in the cars that will go on to district. District rules are fairly lax, so I didn...

Need some advise from the experts

Hey guys, I need your advise. We started in PWD last year we my two older boys joined scouts. My two boys went on to win both the pack and district races. Since then my boys and I have been participating in proxy racing. After a conversation with our Cubmaster at this years Webeloree, I volunteered ...

Re: Graphite Paint

I have some graphite paint called EZ Slide. I tried it and I wasn't impressed. I have found a good hard shinny painted surface with a little graphite rubbed on is much slicker. I have even heard of some guys using fingernail polish painted on that surface or just rub graphite on bare wood surface. H...
