Thx!

Re: Our first 2010 car
Hey All, Just a quick update, I will never use this paint on cars again. I put on three medium...not heavy but not light coats on it. When first done it looked AMAZING and then some! Over the three days of letting it cure the "chrome" look started to oxidize...which is why I considered a c...

Re: New BSA Wheels - More Specifications by Mold Type
So the question that comes to mind...what do we do with all the other wheels that we get accumulating these preferred wheels?

Re: New Wheel Question
After you've removed the step, the head of the axle sits deep in the hub. What is the best way to remove a wheel and axle with this configuration without damaging either the wheel or the axle? The tool I have works well with the old wheels, but not so much with the new ones once the step is removed...

Re: Our first 2010 car
I haven't clear-coated it yet. I might just try the Minwax polyurethane that Sarge used before I sand it back down and respray it. It might be the gloss I need, if it doesn't react with it. Hey Shawn, Nice car. Coincidentally we also went for a chrome finish this year. One thing I noticed is it is ...

Re: My Midnight Deuce and a half...
I hear you, safety is key, it is mostly something that "Dad" runs. Keep in mind the prop stops as soon as I left off the throttle. It is also say now that we run it in to a "buffer". When I first ran it I was unsure how to run it and how much abuse it would put up with. So I init...

Re: My Midnight Deuce and a half...
TOU, great job on the rig! Now step it up a notch and install one of those wireless micro cameras on top the cab, then pipe it to an overhead projector so everyone can get a drivers point of view from a vehicle going that fast! I saw that someone had done this on a regular PWD car over in this thre...

Re: My Midnight Deuce and a half...
Tou, You stated: "(I think that he either bent or chipped his prop after one of his runs though...I chipped mine later running backwards up the track. )" Can you tell me how well the car ran up the track and where the starting point for it was? I don't have Cub aged boys anymore (them thi...

Re: "Weight is important, but it isn't everything"...???
I'll try to address several of your points tomorrow as I'm beat, but thought I would point out a couple more statistics from the data above before I hit the sack. 12/25 of the overall top cars were 5 ouncers...including 1st place. Additionally 5/10 of top 10 are 5 ouncers. Wild eh?!

"Weight is important, but it isn't everything"...???
in a recent thread Stan wrote: Weight is important, but it isn't everything. Until recently I didn't think weight was completely everything...but pretty dang important. However recently some things have me really rethinking this a bit....as to exactly how important weight really is; I think Stan is ...

Re: My Midnight Deuce and a half...
Thx gpraceman, I appreciate that...as mentioned, I probably wouldn't have thought to use this kit with out your input and direction. They and their speed is quite addictive....I know they are not pure old school PWD but they are fun and the crowds and the little kids love'em. (Heck so do the "B...

Re: Fans for outlaw cars
What you have planned will work...but I might advise something like the following that I recently built and raced this weekend. It was pretty fast..... http://www.derbytalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4932" target="_blank IMHO, I really think it is hard to beat this type of setup for the ...

Re: My Midnight Deuce and a half...
Hey All, I thought I would give you an update of this weekends festivities. We entered one car for each in my family including this one, seven total. Over all, we did quite well; I'll try to post them and their results in another thread shortly. Back to the Midnight Deuce & a half... Results: Le...
