Ebay car alert, passtime or insanity you make the call

I find myself in my internet freetime, emailing pack and district leaders in the geographical area of the "winners"(ironic term I know)of ebay premade car auctions... I have less issues with the sellers than the buyers, but there is blame to go around... I figured if I put some fear in the...

looking for (x)E+finals race software with electronic timer

Hi I'm hunting for a program that may not yet be written. Basically a computerized way to run Stan Popes 5E+finals or (x)E+finals In it's simple form I need something to 1. input group size and number of lanes 2. random sort and display racers for 1st round heats 3. sense race results/allow for ties...

Re: 5E with Finals and my "new ideas"?

[quote="Stan Pope"]I think that it could reasonably be done. That would not keep me from wanting to know how to run with no electronics ... not even an electronic finish line. And the method as I teach it is ready to invoke so long as at least the cars will stay on the track and there is e...

Re: 5E with Finals and my "new ideas"?

Hey Stan (and others) Just thought I'd check in, been running the method you helped me develop in this thread 3 years now, with great success. My only scout aged son just crossed over, I've been asked to come to Pow wow next fall and teach the method to other pack leaders and maybe to my eventual su...

Just bragging

Well my sons car rebounded nicely from a 3rd place finish in our DEN to win 1st in Districts... the car had much less supervision then in past years and we never went over the alignment...easy fix, just put the car on the old air hockey table and gave it a nice little roll.. way off, the little hole...

HELP! Get a load of this

so Last year my pack was in charge of running "super-districts" derby at the scout show, I thought everything went fine using no chart 4e. we have 4 districts 3 racers per districts so max 12 racers per class (tiger, wolf ..etc) the chairperson for the District just to the north of us impo...

More ebay Fun

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1190&item=5958775996&rd=1 I saw this auction this morning before work, and left it on the computer when I left for work... When I came home my wife was amazed, not that someone would try to sell a premade car... but more so that any ...

Re: Need rules for for District race

Hey Stan with you approval I plan on using your Districts rules as a template for making some long overdue changes to my own districts mostly unwritten rules. I would be happy to credit your district if you so desire.

ledsled some ideas

the guys here have convinced me that DE is not the way to go. The hard part for me, after I was won over was selling it to the packs bigwigs to change the way "it's always been done" I'd consider running the individual packs 3 or 4 elimination and then taking the top 3 in each pack for a m...

Re: looking for software that ....

well it's that time again, stopped by this thread to see if any computer freeware software had been written since last year to do Stans method of (x)E elimination method with a homebuilt printer port interface and a 3 lane track. no luck there (go figure)... but last year's poker chip in tupperware ...

Re: 2E on it's deathbed in my district

Thank God we talked about things I thought I didn't need to know, I'll explain why later. As for the set up, we ran the 5E with finals on two tracks running different age groups with a 15 minute staggered start. Due to lack of room we used the token method we discussed. One poker chip was marked to ...

2E on it's deathbed in my district

Well, I ran the district pinewood race today. I used the system Stan sent me. My pack ran our track, and I ran the race on a track another pack brought. In the past we always ran 2E, but now that we used this new system , I don't think we'll be going back. I must have heard 50 comments about how muc...

Re: When Using Molten Lead....

Yes, brownboy, I was referring to your post. I'm not sure you answered my question. Do you drill out the lead weight at check-in on race day? If not, what if your scale and the "official" scale read different? We have so many boys show up on race day, it is difficult to make too many adju...
