Re: Staging with a peg
sabastian, I merely brought up my two points because I have seen a bad start gate bounce the cars a little bit. The most it will do is maybe offset the starting alignment slightly left or right. If the gate is spring loaded, you can add a piece of foam to the gate to dampen the release or simply adj...

Re: Staging with a peg
Sebastian, one thing that I have'nt heard anyone mention is the starting gate itself. Is it a spring triggered, or is it on a rubber band? The point here is that you want a quick no bounce start. A slow gate release will allow the car to possibly roll up the peg then dropping down to the treack as t...

Re: An issue of ethics
Turbo_Python, My oldest son and I went through some of the same chastations eight years ago, and I didn't even have a track! They accused us of everything because a Tiger beat the reining champ. I tried to tell them that we researched some building resources and just worked hard. To finally quiten t...

Re: Any Experience with the Track from Make Tracks?
We recently hosted a big RA Derby race in which one of the tracks used was a Make Tracks track, and the people had purchased the stopping garage as per their website. It has about a two to three inch thick foam, similar to what is found in furniture padding, and as the car enters the stopping garage...

Re: Any Experience with the Track from Make Tracks?
Hurley 64 is correct. That particular track is unfinished with nothing pre-drilled or pre-assembled. You have to drill all holes and put everything together yourself. It is a bottom side assembly and has to be flipped over to bolt together and flipped back upright to be used. I speak from personal e...

Re: Quality Tracks
Hi, we are sad to announce that we at Qualty Tracks have decided to stop building tracks at this time, but that it was not by our choice. The problem started several months ago when the local wholesale distributor of the plywood material that I use brought in a import product to replace the good qua...

Re: If buying Tungsten... please read!
I have purchased tungsten cylinders and plates this year for the first time, and I found the plates and cylinders to weigh in as stated from the supplier. I am sure that if you ran thru enough of them, you could find a slight variation in weight. I do have some cubes purchased from two different ven...

Re: What to use to celan wooden track
You may want to try a citrus cleaner, I usually have good luck with that on my track. Windex, Johnson & Johnson, and several other companies make these types of products.

Re: New Derby Products 2006-2007 Season
I just wanted to follow up, the kids did well with the new weights. With the tungsten plates we were able to go thinner than ever before. We went at 3/8" high body, and we routers out 1/4" underneath for the tungsten plates. We made two stacks of three each. This gave us about four of the s...

Re: New Derby Products 2006-2007 Season
My youngest son is a new tiger, and participating in his first pack pwd Mar. 3. The design that he has come up with will work best with the cylinders, but we have an RA race at our church the following week and we have picked a different design out for that race which will use the plates. I plan on ...
