Re: Where to drill holes with silver bullet
rkibby, I think most set there DFW around 1 1/2 degrees Positive cant which may, or may not, lift the non DFW off the track. If setting the DFW with that much Negative cant, wouldn't that lower the car allowing the non DFW to touch? Yes, your absolutely correct on the positive. I'm typing negative ...

Re: Foam pit stadium display
This is a great deal and there isn't anything out there like this you can buy. These parking lots have been commercially available for several years. Same principle, different material. More recently, these came out. Not really the same principle, but they do serve to hold the cars on the staging t...

So its ok to drill at different heights on the front and the back? Also, is it ideal to have the fronts lower than the back or the opposite? Re: Where to drill holes with silver bullet
There isn't going to be a definite answer, what it ends up being is what works best for each individual.
As for me, 1/4" body I'll do 1/8" drill height all the way around.
If I do a 3/8" body I drill the rears 1/8" and the fronts 5/32".
I drill my rears at 3° can't.

Re: Axle Comparison
I agree with this approach, although I'd worry that a rule like "Only BSA Made in USA axles" might raise questions because there is nothing directly on the axle as to its country of origin. Perhaps some "unskilled builders" not appreciating the intent might find it silly or lega...

Re: axle questions
to add. alittle what stan said you can also drill a hole where each axle point is at in the body and this works for slots or drilled axkes. it also seems to work better on thicker bodies, a thin body you might drill all the way through the body to get the right depth. you make the hole diameter big ...

That sounds Awesome. I know my two boys can't wait. This will be my first time getting to council. I see they will have a spot for kids to build Lego derby cars, my cubmaster bought 10 pairs of those wheel kits for the pack. the kids will get a huge kick out of those. sent from somewhere in the corn...

Re: Mid America
what district do you live in? Also about the oil, you might want to look at the rules again. It says Qualified scouts, Open kids and Open Adult is graphite only. Oil is Open scout only and Pro divisions. good luck, we will be at Council this year as well and can't wait. sent from somewhere in the co...

Re: Fenders-Friend or Foe
most of what I've seen is you can get them in pine, or balsa. looks like most of the balsa kits come in thin layers and the user needs to glue them together to get the width they need. And all need to be shaped after they are glued to the body. I would assume no fenders out there bought or home made...
