Re: New BSA Wheels - Even More Specifications by Mold Type
Hello again. Cub Scouts has just started up after the Summer break and I'd like to get a jump start on ordering parts and what-not. Since molds change over time, I'm wondering what are the current BSA wheel #'s that I should be shooting for and that I can realistically get my hands on? What's a good...

Re: "It's all About Having Fun"
Awesome advise Dan. I talked to my better half this evening and was telling her something similar. I agree and someone needs to take this step. Don't get me wrong, they're all great people, there just needs more structure at this event. BTW, do you have any pics of your "carrying trays"? A...

"It's all About Having Fun"
What a day to say the least. It was the big day today for our pack and I'm not sure how to view it. On the way to the location where we race I told my son that it's all about having fun and if we don't win that it's okay, he understood as I found out later. Did I? That's hard to tell. First off the ...

Re: Weight Questions - Laquer
I apologize for missing the additional responses. I've been incredibly busy with this car. The car is pretty much finished, just fine tuning at the moment. The big day's tomorrow. I had a real problem with lacquer and smudges when handling. I primed on a damp day and that wreaked havoc on everything...

Got it on the wheel prep. Thanks. I'm just looking for additional insurance with any variables that I can control.

Re: Body prep where wheel rubs body --- What do you use?
So the graphite is rubbed in after the polished as thoroughly dried, correct? Also, how close to you get to the axle hole? I considered just barely sliding in an axle and applying the nail polish around it.The clear nail polish impregnated with graphite

Carefully Applying Graphite
How do you carefully apply graphite to the bore, yet not get it on a finished tread. Masking would only introduce sticky adhesive. Do you just clean the tread with alcohol later. If so any particular type? Or would alcohol ruin a fine MicroMeshed finish? The places I want graphite are in the bore an...

Re: RR, Canting, Toe In Toe Out - Where Do I Start
Thanks a lot quadad. That helps a lot. Just as a note, our rules, fortunately, aren't as stringent as others. 1. Car Specifications: Width: - 2-3/4"; Length - 7"; Weight - Not over 5 Ounces; Width between wheels - 1-3/4"; Bottom clearance between car and track - 3/8" 2. Whe...

RR, Canting, Toe In Toe Out - Where Do I Start
I've read thread after thread, document after document including the one by Jay Whiles. My head is spinning and I can't sleep  . With all the talk of toe in and toe out, 2.5 degrees here and 1.5 there I'm simply more confused than ever. I think I got most confused when I read that I'm supposed...

Re: New BSA Wheels - Even More Specifications by Mold Type
I'm guessing that the best wheel (least amount of runout) be the DFW? And the rears (canted) after that?

Re: New BSA Wheels - Even More Specifications by Mold Type
Most of the testing here is over my head and I'm about to get frantic with only a week left before I'm off to the races. I have eight wheels and trying to choose between them. I'm RR'ing on an aluminum track with a COG of .75 from the back wheel. I was hoping that someone could help me guess which w...

Re: Pro Axle Press with New BSA Wheels
Thanks to you both. I did see that thread this AM as well as Stan's videos. I did take a test wheel and the Pro Hub Shaver and just slightly shave the upper step only enough to take the marks off, while still leaving the lower step. Seems like a good compromise and then go about the MM/dowel techniq...

Should the imperfections, that I described, pose a problem if left alone?

Re: Pipe Cleaner Size
My wife picked up some that are the Tom and Jerry's. They do not say extra anything. I'm concerned because that have these plastic reddish things sticking out thoughout the entire cleaner that, I would imagine, could scratch the inner hub. They also have a wire core. Are these what I want? They don'...
