Re: Unlimited class next year- what are my opions since I'm

I stopped by the LHS{local hobby shop} yesterday since it was on the way home from the scout shop{needed to set up an account there and grab some segments for the kids}...anyway, turns out those AMT slot cars are center drive...so the '66 nova kit followed me home{reminded me of my old '67 I had lon...

Anyone grab one of the BSA Blastcar kits too?

I got my BSA Blastcar in the mail today...big sucker compared to regular pinecar kits and wheels. In the instructions it mentioned some thing about wheel choices...."slicks{provided?}, ATV and Monster". I'm going to guess that there will be other wheels offered in the future?! I've been st...

Re: Here's my 2 cars, a semi truck and the lounge racer

Thanks, I felt the batmobile needed some extra stuff to set it off right.
No tilt cab option on that truck.
Just got my Blast car kit today...big sucker!

Re: Graphite selection/testing?

I simply can't decide between the white or standard graphite powder{yeah, rookie here}. I think I need to take a stroll on over to see Sporty's pinewood races some day...we're talking here about a full council wide race next year if we can get enough tracks together and a place to do it...all those ...

Re: Mirage paint question

I painted flames using that on my kid's pedal car over a black body...turned out pretty cool. That mirage paint system is a 3 part deal, black base coat, color shifting layer{thin and clear looking}, then the final clear coat. It actually comes alive with that final clear coat. You have other option...

Re: Painting experiment

Cubmasterbob, Think I will stick with the cans for now but there may be an AB in my future. Will try a classic flame soon. Working on my Civil War car and I want a flame dividing the blue and grey. Will likely need to cut a hole in some cardboard to make sure I can blend from white to yello to oran...

Re: Painting experiment

There's two ways of doing "da flame job"...old school is colored in solidly and some blend in white, yellow and orange to the red for added looks...the new way is doing faded licks and connecting them faintly to replicate real fire. If the real thing look is what you want to try, grab your...

Re: BSA Blastcar Racing

From what I recall of the BSA blast car is that they asked for 300' for the run. Also that $70 starting system is a dual launcher and could be daisey chained to more units...@ $70 each{neat but ouch}. I'm trying to recall where I just recently saw someone's car go 60ish feet{maybe it was 90 somethin...

Re: Unlimited class next year- what are my opions since I'm

Speedster, what chassis did you use? Looks like the new AMT kits are sidewinders compared to your center gear...I'd be afraid of track center guide interference. I saw an EJ's frame last night that looks good....there's probably others.

Re: Unlimited class next year- what are my opions since I'm

Wow, someone has a whole lot of spare time on their hands to build that!
Why a dual outlet though...I'd question better thrust with a single outlet, but maybe he was shooting for a tamer solution.
BSA has the new CO2 pine cars kits out...I'd like to get one just to see how they are set up.

Re: Unlimited class next year- what are my opions since I'm

Ask any question. I'd love to see pictures of your car going together. I will do that....on no doubt "both" aspects! I'll get the chassis set up in the near future and then go body hunting thru the model stash or try jimmy flintstone for something...perhaps my resin 1/25 scale dodge a100 ...

Re: Unlimited class next year- what are my opions since I'm

If you have a Mini-T with a modified motor, You Are There. Those are the expensive parts. You won't lose the car. The electronics are all held on the chassis and roof of the Dodge with double face tape. When your derby is over simply take the electronics out of the drag car and put them in your Min...

Re: Unlimited class next year- what are my opions since I'm

The RC parts which are the radio, speed control, modified motor, 7.2 volt Nickel Metal Hydride battery are from a modified Losi Mini-T RC car. The chassis was built from square brass tubing to fit the Revell Funny Car Body. Front wheels were Awana on McD's and BSA on the blue car. Slot car parts we...

Re: Unlimited class next year- what are my opions since I'm

-Speedster, is that an AMT slot car with RC?..looks like it from the wheels. I briefly mused the new BSA CO2 set up but I believe they'll be only running a standard{to us} 32' track....I will have to check that as the CO2 cars require something around 300'! -FatSabastian, I've got some spare A engin...
