Re: New SmartLine Timer Options
I like that they bumped the display to four places past the decimal, our pack's timer only shows three.

Re: Derby Magic Drag Racing Setup
I don't care for having the pins pull straight down either, it will favor a car with a higher nose also besides the sticky nose issue. May only be a few thousandths but it won't be a fair race. I would let people race on it just for fun but not for a scout race.

Re: Referb of an old gate
It does sound like it's not getting enough current but 10a should be more than enough looking at the spec sheet. If you power it and slowly raise the gate by hand, does it ever snatch it open or does it only hold it once you get it open? I see the solenoid has a plastic guide for the plunger, might ...

Re: Are we due for new wheels?
Don't think "Unlimited acrylic razors", think "BSA wheel but without the wide tread". Mold some fluting on the inside face so you could tell if it's been thinned, leave the current markings on the outside face, maybe have the very outside edge as a raised band to keep the wheel o...

Re: Are we due for new wheels?
If they're getting ready to update the molds, I would love for the wheels to come with some kind of witness marks inside of the wheel to help dissuade people from doing internal weight removal. As long as it's some sort of marking that can't be duplicated with machining, I think that would be a gre...

Re: Oil -Freezing
I would use oil, never had a problem with it freezing in the winter or getting baked out in the summer months. It'll be A-OK fine!

Re: Cub scouts/Girl Scouts
I would say to let her race in whatever groups she is a member. If the cub scouts race the girl scouts it sounds like she has the chance to race herself then? She'd need to build a new car though, right? Our rules require that a car can't have run in competition before, do you have a similar rule?

Re: Red Rocket ?
I don't think they call it Liquid Glass any more? http://www.mptindustries.com/mpt_products/classic.htm or http://www.mptindustries.com/mpt_products/argos.htm Paul, it takes very little wax to do a set of wheels, a small bottle of Red Rocket would likely be enough for your whole troop. As others hav...

Re: Best Track Mods
If you can keep from removing the gate and switch from the track and do a good job leveling during set up, I think you'll see consistent times from venue to venue. I recommend removing the start switch any time the track is removed. Just mark the switch position under the track, so it can be reinst...

Re: Best Track Mods
It makes the track noticeably sturdier when you're wiping it down, but I can't say it made the track any more consistent. Even if the track sections have a little sag on the long spans, it doesn't change from run to run so the times shouldn't really change either. I did use aluminum angle stock for ...

Do you mean creating a roster in a spreadsheet and then importing it into GPRM? Yes create in spreadsheet and import into gprm Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk I may have misunderstood your question, but if you're importing a roster, the format you need is: (copied from the help menu in GPRM) &q...

Re: Aerodynamics ?
Yes sir, I directed our pack to the video during our PWD informational meeting back in December. I thought he did a pretty good job of explaining the basics where a young person could understand. I also advised them to watch out for other videos on youtube that appear to be "how to's" but ...
