Re: What line for the track?

I hope you are still around. I'll be looking for the stuff. Can I just go to a good fishing supply house to get it?

Re: Where are there plans to build a Space Derby track?

Well, we finished building the starting gates and finish lines for our Pack this weekend. We had our the boys in my sons Webelos I build them as part of their pin advancements for craftsman. They cut the wood, screwed everything together, and did a great job with adult supervision. We built them out...

Re: Your opinion please? Based on points Racers run across l

Actually, we've found that our PPN-like method is easier to run than the old lane-rotation method we were using. Lane-rotation has the advantage of "simplicity" only when you run the 2-3-4-5 race immediately after the 1-2-3-4 race. But if you run it that way, then you can't stage the cars...

Re: Your opinion please? Based on points Racers run across l

Yes, it is woefully inaccurate, but I do feel that it ends up being unfair to the faster racers that happen to go up against the #1 car for most of their heats. The inaccuracy leads to the unfairness. Thank you for writing this. This is exactly why this poll was posted. What you are describing is t...

The boys that had won their Pack and did not have to qualify had the lower numbers. I believe that they then lined up the qual racers by level, place (e.g. Wolves 1,2,3).

Your opinion please? Based on points Racers run across lanes

Just returned from Districts, had been there before, and noticed something that seemed flawed in the way they were running the rounds. Software was being used, and I believe it was the same "Derbymaster" that we use at the Pack level, at which we have used "Standard Rotation" (St...

Re: Anyone else done a Cubmobile Race ?

We made cubmobiles this past year, and they turned out well. Used a solid axle, made two within the den. Problem was that a lot of the boys could not keep them running. Our road had a slight bend, and they would get into this oscillation, or just flat out over turn the car. Result was that about 25 ...
