Re: "Lubricants must be dry at the time of the race"
I suspect they're concerned about spray on lubricants. 4 years ago, someone used some kind of spray on lubricant that gave them a distinct advantage. After that, for a year, we had a "dry at the time of application" stipulation to our rules, but I think it's been forgotten. A reason for &...

Approx. how much time do you spend on the build of a car?
Just curious to get a consensus of how much time is spent on average building a car. I say this because one of the dads says he had about 18 hours into the car, which seems excessive to me. I imagine our car this year (which we did in a hurry) we probably had under 6 hours invested. We did re-use wh...

Graphite Attached permanently to car body?
I'm sure at some point this has been thought of and covered, but I wasn't sure how to search for it. What are the thoughts on permanently attaching graphite to the area where the hub contacts the body?? ie putting graphite into the wet paint or coating the area with glue and adding graphite?

Re: Trail's End is a Cruddy Product
But Girl Scouts get .50 per CASE! DerbyAddicted- I agree with the main point of your post, but my understanding is the girl scouts get closer to .50 per box, not per case. birddog You may be right, although I have it from a pretty good source that it's actually per case. But maybe our local GS oper...

Re: Trail's End is a Cruddy Product
I'm my Unit's Popcorn Colonel (or is it Kernel?) I get really frustrated when I hear the Cookies vs. Popcorn argument. Yes, I admit, the popcorn isn't the best in the world, and yes it is overpriced. But Girl Scouts get .50 per CASE! I'll take selling popcorn over GS Cookies ANY day! My son is a Web...

My son is a Web II, and he wanted to skip PWD this year. Not sure what the end result will be.FatSebastian wrote:I would have supposed the opposite is true: Webelos II is a boy's last opportunity to compete and do well in PWD.Vitamin K wrote:"I had been hoping he wouldn't care about the Derby, since he is a Webelos II"

Re: LightninBoy X series cars
Thanks guys! I'm not satisfied with that picture, here's a better one for seeing the fender detail. The curve there is quite natural, it sorta just happens as I shape to integrate the front trailing fender with the rear fender. I'm so glad you don't sell cars or fenders. I would be so tempted to be...

Re: Reduced price on BSA Wheels and Axles?
Not sure what the craft stores like Michaels and AC Moore charge, but keep in mind they ALWAYS have coupons, so with the right coupon, you can get a decent chunk off your entire order (or 40%-50% off a single item).
