Re: Race Friday. My latest problem....
I relized if I wanted to start over for peace on mind I would just have to buy new axels and just sand and bend the back 2. The front one is fine as that will rotate to where I need it to ride into the rail 1 or 2" over 5 feet.

One more question.....
So I placed my wheel last night that is pointless. (It doesn't touch the track) I used a tool designed for this but it feels and looks like there is too much left and right on the axel for the tire to slide on. Id guess looks like a 1.5 mm of sliding. Should I trust this tool is smarter than me. It ...

After the mess of playing with duport chain saver and cleaning the axles the black marker I made on the axel head to show when the bend starts is cleaned off. Hope Im explaining this well. You mark an axel head and place in ...

Re: Tonight is axels and wheel prep. Remind me...
I'm curious. Did someone on Derbytalk recommend you use this product? I'd like to read about it. I have decided to run a car with oil in the Mid America race this year. What I have found is there are several oils recommended for Pinewood Derby cars. Their prices range from $39.95 down to $19.95 for...

I sprayed the axel but whwn a stream of spray hits it there is no way to get a nice coat. I wiped it all off and will use nothing. I was told if running oil use this. If running graphit...

Do you know of a specific brand that is oleophobic? This way I just look for this.Kindintentions wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 10:56 am Make sure the synthetic wax is both hydrophobic (repels water) and oleophobic (repels oil), as I have seen they almost always indicate that they are hydrophobic, but only a few state that they are also oleophobic.

Alright Im gonna sand this all off. I put it all over the quarter sized tire area. I hate it and it feel sticky ir more grippy to my finger top like a rubber nail polish even though it isnt.
