Re: A two-wheeler that works!
Stan, quote....See where I am going? Not only do I need help seeing, I need help reading posts above. Keeping the weight at or below the axle plane will improve stability and hence minimize tipping. The wheels I used were aftermarket which according to manufacture had been reamed and trued up. The t...

Re: A two-wheeler that works!
Stan Think about: How does the "tipping" tendency relate to 1. vertical CM location (CMy)? 2. wheel bores? 3. weight distribution and moments in the curved sections? Stan, I'm not really sure about the answers to your questions, but I will take a guess and a stab in the dark. It has been 3...

Re: A two-wheeler that works!
I attempted a 2-wheeler last year just for the fun. It was a diagonal weighted model. I placed 1/4"cubes outside rail in front and rear of rear wheel. As I recall, the front weighted around 1.15 -1.2 oz. It was quick at times, but others it was slowww.... real inconsistent. It would tip forward...

Re: Cheapest Gas in Your Area
I purchased some for $1.39 on last Friday in central eastern NC... but noticed today it had gone up to $1.44. Unfortunately, I feel like we may have seen the bottom.

Re: Grooved Axels, Tapping Wheel bore, etc
This may not be related to original subject, and it can be moved if needed. Since we are talking about lubes, could we discuss application of lubes. Let's assume you have your shiny axles and your wheels with the bore polished. I too have the problem of graphite coming out after a few runs. What ste...

Re: Threaded (tapped) wheels
Wouldn't using right hand tapper on all four wheels cause one side to move toward the axle head and the other side move toward the wood body? If so, what did you do to keep the wheel from rubbing the wood?

Re: Polish axles...replacement for mothers mag
hey doct1010,
what steps do you use to prepare your bores for kryton? I understand the bore treatment is more critical compared to graphite. Do you burnish with drill stock before polishing bore and what works best for polishing agent?

Re: Perfect Axles
Just a question...if you are set up for rail riding with the rear wheels tracking straight and your front steer wheel tracking at your desired steer, are your rear wheels tracking straight at and after the point of contact of front DW on the rail? I'm assuming once front DW touches and rides rail, t...

Re: Comparisons of Lightened Wheels????
Joe's testing confirms what I saw when I replaced standard bsa wheels with warp's 1.6 gram wheels. I saw almost .04 quicker times on my homemade wood track which also measures 28' with a Judge timer. This was with rr alignment on a 3-wheeler wing car with 22grams on front. The biggest difference is ...

Track starter
I'm not sure if this post needs to go under tracks or electronics?? But here goes....I have a homemade wooden single lane track used for testing with a Judge et timer. For some years, I have attached rubber band to starting peg and pull for starts. Recently, I though I would update and build a start...
