Re: New Track purchase

We also purchased a 4 lane Aliminum Freedom track ... took almost 3 months to get it, but it is awsome! We purchased the Grand Prix Race Manager software after downloading and testing it. The only change we made was in the timer, we originally purchased the Newbold Daytona product. After setting it ...

Re: Geez Louise...PWD rules...I just have to vent!

hmmm .... got a little rant of my own and I know it isn't gonna be popular  [/rant on] There seem to be alot of posts regarding this issue, lack of rules (or minimal), dad creates a (beyond the rules) car and is disappointed when rules are handed out (later) and car will not qualify. It see...

Re: VERY DISAPPOINTED

I feel your pain Provo ..... There is a previous thread discussion about Best versus Freedom that got pretty lively over the last couple of months on this issue. :? It boiled down to communication for us ... really, miscommunication over a 3 month period. Have you cancelled your order or are you giv...

First Time Workshop

Well, after researching this topic and gathering much useful information from this forum, we hosted our Pack's first ever workshop. We tried to keep it as simple as possible, yet give the boys an opportunity to really do some work on their cars. I don't have any pictures, but I'll try to g...

Re: Special Scouting Edition of the Down and Derby DVD

Our council lent us a copy for a week. We had a special viewing day at our house yesterday for our pack ... all the kids were off from school ... I didn't get to see it yet  as I was busy in the basement with a full day of den wood working projects and a derby workshop. Oh well ... the reviews ...

Re: When & How to Assign Car Numbers?

Just a quick note ... we assign numbers to each racer at the time we hand out the car kits, so the kids can get their number painted on the car and not have to have a sticker or sharpie marker messing up their cool cars. We assign the numbers starting with the Tiger den and working up to the Webelos...

I really like this idea .... do you have your rules posted on a website that I can view?

Re: Storage Crate for Piantedosi Track

We added extra handles on the ends and the sides (my daughter says it looks like a pinewood coffin) Hehe ... that's exactly what my sons all said when we added the 4 handles to the sides  A toybox hinge sounds like the perfect solution ... the lid is kind of heavy and we don't have a stop ...

Thanks Randy! Good advice.

A "Lesson's Learned" category could be a good idea as a Main Forum Threads topic.

Re: Good/Bad experience on race day

Yep ... too bad your CubMaster made the call to allow the 2 cars to race. An obvious rule violation, such as length/width/weight/wheels/axles is automatically rejected in our pack. We'll assist in any way possible to help the boys get their cars within guidelines, but the inspection team has the fin...

Re: When & How to Assign Car Numbers?

We have used both methods, assigning numbers during registration and pre-assigning during distribution. I prefer pre-assigning myself ... control issue  We have also used the stickers, not my favorite due to risk of peeling off ... however, we ran for a couple of years with no problems. Las...

Re: SmartLine Timers

Let us know how the Smartline timer works out Rob... BTW, we have run some basic testing of the Microwizard Timer (didn't purchase any of the additional pc options) with GPRM software and it seems to work great. Our derby is at the end of the month and I can't wait to run the whole new setup. :mrgre...

Re: SmartLine Timers

Not sure about the Smartline Timer, but we just purchased the Microwizard K2 Kit with electronic interface and it was about $20 cheaper delivered then the Smartline 4 lane. It did take me about 1 1/2 hours to put it together and test it, with my 3 boys help of course  .... I would definitel...
