Re: SOME SOLD LOT'S MORE Leaving PWD Have lots of stuff
Hey T, I'm 55. My son is 10. Health Issues. IF he is foolish enough to procreate before I complete my Life Cycle, He'll just have show his kids, himself. His cars are staying with his other mementos. BESIDES these newfangled colored wheels etc. I've been hearing about are harbingers of evil!!!...

Re: Rail Riding - "How To Guide"
Joe,
OK, I'm getting on track. Sorry...
We've got 11 months until our next and last races, so I'll read all the material, and do our darnedest!
Thanks again!

Re: Rail Riding - "How To Guide"
Hey Joe, Thanks for the response. Oh, btw, I am NOT proposing anything more than Dr Jobe's method being one that may address the problem. His method. That's the reason for my questions. To understand the +'s & -'s of rh. Does the process laid out by Dr. Jobe, not accomplish the same thing as rai...

Re: Rail Riding - "How To Guide"
"Warp offers this cautionary caveat regarding narrowing:*One thing to mention though. During the small amount of testing I have been able to do this year, I did find that any excessive narrowing of the front tread width (more than 1/16" or so) can slow the car by making it VERY (overly) se...

Re: Bending an axle
Rick,
Check in David Mead's "Official Scout" Pinewood Derby Speed Secrets book.
There's a close up and clear picture as well as instruction there for axle bending. Pages 82 and 83.
If you don't want to buy the book, it's probably available at your library.

Re: Bending an axle
I've found dropping the car from 3 foot 8 inches bends axles well. Though without precision in most cases!

I looked through the results and couldn't find the answer - I'm sure it's been answered before:
How do I clean Zytox 100 from axles and the wheels especially the inner hubs?
Alcohol?
TIA!!!

Re: Some final questions before the race
Bullet Lube is a proprietary lube from David Meade's company Derby Champ.
It has worked well for me but Tube - O - Lube is still the trusted favorite for us and is less expensive (per weight) and available locally as well as from the on-line folks.

Re: Pinewood Derby for Boy Scouts?
I'm glad someone posted this idea from MaxV's newsletter! I feel it's a great idea. And everyone I've talked to in our Pack is all for it. We just had the "Old Corps" longtime leaders leave. I think there's a "burn out" period - not regarding Scouting as a whole, but with PWD. No...
