Re: Unused lanes for the K1 kit - question?
Thanks quadad. Did you put the sensors at the bottom with the IR's above the track? I'm working on it now.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Do you need to own a track to build a successful rail rider?
John, our son made a nice car!! Last year I helped my son make his first RR. Before that I had always aligned then straight. We don't have a test track so I used a board with a line drawn down the center to watch how much it moved over. So I was able to check the alignment that way. But having a tra...

Re: Unused lanes for the K1 kit - question?
I'll double check with them. Our pack has the same K1 timer but was bought assembled in a case and it has all of the sensors for four lanes connected and we only use two of them.
Thanks
Thanks

Unused lanes for the K1 kit - question?
Hi Everyone, Today I am working on the enclosure for my microwizard K1 assembled kit. In the web site is says: NOTE: If you have less than 4 lanes, don't hook up the sensors for the lanes not in use. Does this mean do not connect the sensors? Or just do not use them where they are aligned up? All of...

Re: Beta Craft track plating for a test track?
I have that timer from Microwizard and its already assembled on the board. I just need to build the enclosure for it which I plan to work on this week. I have not yet started with the track either but I do know what I plan to do for support. First I want to make the starting gate on the first track ...

Re: Mounting the sensors from the K1 kit timer of MicroWizard
Thanks, I'll do that. On the bottom piece, are those screws/bolts that are sticking up? I assume you have holes drilled in the track that those go through? Nice design!

Re: Mounting the sensors from the K1 kit timer of MicroWizard
Thanks, I plan to build one very similar to that. But right now the sensors are just soldered to the wires which is fine. How do you mount them in that casing where you want? Do you drill a perfect size hole so they are snug? I'm just curious what you hold them in place with once they are in the hol...

Mounting the sensors from the K1 kit timer of MicroWizard
Hi Everyone, I have the K1CA timer which came assembled and has the sensors, display LEDs and IR LEDs attached to the ribbon cables. Can anyone suggest the best way for mounting these in a case I plan to build? I'm only biulding this for one lane but I may go ahead and atleast do it for two lanes in...

Re: Microwizard Timer !! The kit, I built, works great !! pic's
That's a sweet looking timer!! I had ordered a kit last year and never used it. Since I'm building a test track I started looking for it. I couldn't even remember if I ordered the board assembled or not! I just found it today and it is the K1CA which is assembled. My test track is only one lane but ...

Re: Beta Craft track plating for a test track?
I think I can drill holes in each end and use something like the cleats they show in the scout book to connect the pieces together and do this in the curve area. I was worried about having a flat spot in the curve but it's not going to be very long where the cleats are and won't affect it just like ...

Re: Beta Craft track plating for a test track?
Thanks! I looked at the layout for the track in the scout book link you provided. I figured they had to connect the first two pieces together in the curve. I was hoping I did not have to. Otherwise I would have a really long first track piece before the bend and the second would have the bend by its...

Re: Beta Craft track plating for a test track?
My package of 4 pieces of track has arrived for my single lane test track I plan to build now. I took out a track and it is flexible! This looks excellent! Thanks for the pictures of your track. I looked at one trying to see what you did at the starting area. Do you have a full track straight and th...

Re: Pinewood Derby Timer New Bold Products DT1000 - Used
Does the time of the run show only on the timer? Or does it hook to a computer? Either way works just fine for testing I am sure. Just checking though.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Is this a good deal? Test Track and timer $75
I probably will take it. I really don't have use for the track - it may be useful for checking some of the characteristics of the car but I need to run it longer to make sure. Like I said, I have 4 track plating pieces coming by next week for a single lane test track. I'm sure the NewBold timer will...
