Re: To Narrow Front or Not on Four Wheels Touching Car
On the other hand, if you're building a four-wheeled straight runner, you wouldn't have any reason to narrow the front end. If you're building a four-wheeled straight runner with the weight to the rear, would it help to narrow the front (or widen the rear) on both sides, so the lightly weighted fro...

To Narrow Front or Not on Four Wheels Touching Car
I see a lot of people narrow the front end 1/16". Does this help on a four wheels touching car? If so, which side or 1/32" off both sides?

Re: Ever Hear of Krytech Dry Wax Lube
You should be able to find it at Lowes, Homedepot, or Ace. Dupont Chain Saver was the big thing until Jig-a-Loo was discovered. Jig-a-Loo is not being sold in the US by any distributors now. Another option that I have read that was tested to be competitive in league races was Mo-deck lawn mower dec...

Ever Hear of Krytech Dry Wax Lube
We are looking for something to coat the axles on my son's car. We are using oil (Krytox 100) for the first time. We have prepare the wheels with polish and Derby Worx Pro Bore Wax. Just need to know what to coat the axles with. Thought the Krytech might do the trick. I know people recommend Dpont C...

Re: To Shave or Not to Shave the Hubs
How are people cleaning up the cut surface after shaving? I'm not too impressed with the final result. I'd love to get in there with some sandpaper (800 to 100 and then 2000), but don't see how to get to the recessed surface I have glued small disks of abrasive paper on the end of short dowel rods ...

To Shave or Not to Shave the Hubs
My son and I build some decently fast cars, but I haven't bought any of the specialty tools. One tool I've considered is the hub shaver that takes the 2-step outer hub down to one flat surface. Does everyone do this? Is it a must-do step?

Re: Graphite on "Tread" Surface
This is his second year. No rail riding dialed into it. We haven't even test rolled it yet to see how it tracks.

Re: Graphite on "Tread" Surface
We are required to run on all four and they test on a piece of glass, so it's actually fairly hard to get all four down evenly. We polished the bores and hubs and rubbed graphite into the body and inner and outer hub surfaces. He will race on a wooden track and if he finishes in his den's top three,...

Pack Race From 2014

This video is from our pack 2014 PWD. We get all sorts. Plenty of last minute cars, some with some work in them, some beautifully crafted cars and that are mix of everything.

Graphite on "Tread" Surface
What is the general thought on rubbing graphite on the tread surface of the tires? Using a drill press, my son and I wet sanded the tires with 800- and 100-grit paper. We then polished them with plastic polish, so the tires seem truly round and smooth. Will rubbing in graphite help or hurt?
