Re: "Rail-Rider" the movie
Very cool video. I really think by showing the kids, and fathers how to achieve this will really help them. Great job on the video. I also like the way the video shows the car on the track section, focusing on the car gently pulling towards the rail.

Re: Links to alignment procedures?
Since this thread is called links to alignment procedures. I have put together a page on my site that explains the method, and was written by Jay Wiles of Warpspeed Inc. If you want to check it out, then here is the link.

Re: So, what does your username mean?
Derby Doc comes from the leaders in our awana group at church. I would always help out with the kids cars, and if a kid had a problem with their car at the workshop, the guys would always say... ' go see the derby doctor. Im far from a doctor, but I just started using it on forums, etc.

Re: Links to alignment procedures?
I see different methods to CHANGE the alignment. given I have accurately drilled axle holes, do you bend the axles? Bend them AT the point they come out of the body? That seems tedious....what is the best method to determine which direction and how much to bend? thx in advance. SpartanGA GO GREEN! ...

Re: Electric Pig Race?
I think I finally have seen everything the internet has to offer! Performing Frankenstein surgery on an electric pig to make a radio-controlled pinewood derby race car! Im gonna have to get my own pig now. This is getting interesting. Ive heard a lot of good ideas already. Things like bypassing the...

Re: Winter Projects ?
Im in the same boat as gpraceman. I usually do my projects in the summer since Im busy with derby season each year. This past summer I did a remodel of my workshop. I insulated,, and drywalled. Added about 40 ft of laminate countertops for workbenches. I bought a couple of the metal cabinets to stor...

Re: Snowmoblie Drag Racing
I would imagine there would be some form of snowmobile racing, but I was a bit surprised that these guys drag race on grass. http://www.geocities.com/isdrs1/ Photos: http://48fan.com/pics/MTown/index.html I saw an episode of Pinks on the speed channel where snowmobiles were drag racing down the qua...

I know how you feel. I had a funny email sent to me about a week ago. It said something like........ Congressmen should wear suits like nascar drivers, so you can see who their corporate sponsors are.

Re: Get out and Vote!
This year, I did mail in voting. It's much more convenient. Yeah, I've been a permanent absentee voter since my county switched to electronic voting machines. That was the only way I could cast a paper ballot. Then they started offering paper ballots at the polls, and now they use paper ballots for...

Re: Tire mod?
I agree with 3cub, and Gravity, I think the H-tread is easier to make by far, and should run just as good. You can take as little as 20/1000ths out of the center using a file, and still have a good H-tread wheel if you stay consistent with all 4 wheels(or at least 3 if your raising a front wheel) , ...

Re: Get out and Vote!
I agree. I think voting is very important. Even if you think that your vote wont help, you should give it a shot anyway. Its hard to see past the media , but doing a little homework before hand will help a lot. I kept telling myself that I would vote early, but I guess that Ill be the guy standing i...
