Re: What's the Force ???

Not sure if a autowinder like that will work do to differences in the slot the round plastic piece that hold the rubberbands taunt. I have seen slots that barely hold the peg, we like to completly bury ours. I believe you think I am planning on winding from the back - I am planning on mounting it s...

Re: We had the Raingutter Regatta tonight

I really hate to hear BSA leaders writing me about how so many children are on the verge of passing out after a race with the traditional BSA boats - it isn't necessary. :( I never had heard anybody having any sort of problems like that. But the kids do put some time into the boat, would like the r...

Re: We had the Raingutter Regatta tonight

Away from Cubmobile/ Pinewood Derby in April/March. and Popcorn in late fall. To all of you that have done a few of these. I have a few questions. 1) Outlaw or promote Catermerans? Are these more fun , easy to build? 2) How much shoud Webelos be doing at the Den Meeting and how much at Home? 3) If ...

Re: Three wheeled question

O.K. three wheels are better than two, but how much do you raise the hole when drilling and which one left or girht? Do you place weight evenly right to left or do you weight one side more than the other? Thanks. I try to place the weight evenly left to right. Depending on your track, shoot for cen...

Re: Alignment Issues

we are testing for alignment on our dining room table ( whenever my wife is out of the house :D ) 6 foot long table and we are propping up one end with a two by four . The car tracks straight about halfway down then veers sharply to the right , running backwards its just the opposite 3 feet straigh...

Re: Alignment Issues

Thanks for the information - my apologies if this has been touched on in the past I did do a search and found the wax paper shimming method which we will work on . I just found it somewhat strange that it would veer so sharply and the wheels stayed in the same location on the axles. Reading Stans t...

Re: Best Graphite?

Better yet use NY-Oil if allowed. Trust me, it's faster and last far longer per application. If it's not allowed ask why, and show an example that when used as instructed it's virtually bone dry to the touch. No mess and doesn't foul the track. And it's cheaper. Cost more for the first bottle but i...

Re: Best Graphite?

Has anyone tried the graphite/moly lube kit on winderby.com? I recently ordered some just to try but haven't gotten it yet, so I don't know if it's better or not. Figured it was worth looking at though. All our races are dry-lubricant only, so graphite it is. I have used it and thought GM graphite ...

Re: Liquid Graphite

You might actually get too much graphite in hub of wheel using that type of method. Remember, you don't want to pack the wheel either. I was always going to try that method for applying graphite to hub. Why not packing the wheel? Last two years with our car we pack the graphite into the wheel bore ...

I would think you could cut with hack saw blades (2) new slots. If not, just buy a new block.
