Re: LightninBoy X series cars

I see Joe has introduced the Cub Scout version of the Puma weights. Apart from being more rule friendly for scout racing, I believe they are simply better than the original. I'll *definitely* be giving those a try. Yeah.. That Joe Puma what a nice guy! He sent me 3 sets of his Cub Scout version of ...

Re: LightninBoy X series cars

Hi fellas, I was really hoping that Sporty would be the first to get the weights, but an error occurred with the shipping dept. over here. Don't worry Sporty, I am going to put together an extra special care package for you. Lightningboy is very humble, but he actually had some great advice for me t...

Re: Tungsten Puma Weighta

The biggest problem I see is if someone installed 1.8 gram wheels on the rear. I'm going to try to add to our rules requiring all original lettering on the wheels be visible. I should then be able to feel the ridge. Yes. I agree. Lightningboy is a big fan of the Northern Star Council rules, and the...

Re: Need help with removable front fender idea.

Hi DA,

Glad you like the car.

Many scout packs make magnets illegal, but I have often thought about them for league racing to accomplish what you have in mind.

Just an idea.

Thanks Sporty.

Thanks also to Whoda!

He was the one that taught me how to bend wood.
The piece up front is a stick of walnut that I bent into shape.

Thanks guys

Re: Your friendly neighborhood Laserman

Man, these cars look like they're made of bone, vat grown in some secret genetics experiment laboratory. Sick, in the best sense of the word. I'd love to see a time-lapse video of your build process, if you ever felt so inclined, Laserman. Thanks Vitamin K, I got kind of lucky on this one...

Re: Air Commander 2 & 1 more.

Sporty, very nice. I am guessing you are not putting weight in all these cars (unless you just came into a nice inheritance ;) ) Noskills I remember showing a girlfriend Sporty's cars and she asked the same thing (about the tungsten). When I told her that Sporty often demolishes his cars to retriev...

Re: Project un-named

Hi Sporty,

It isn't easy hanging way out there on the limbs eh?

Bravo for being there!

Sometimes even with a ton of hard work one steps back and says:

"Well, that didn't pan out"

No big deal. It's all part of the process. Right?

Re: Tungsten Puma Weighta

Hi Davet, The Puma Weights circle the rear axles. This means that half the weight of the Puma Weights is in front of the axle (1.3oz) and the other half is already behind the rear axles (1.3oz) If you put an additional 10 cubes ( 1.72 oz) behind the rear axle then you are at about 3oz behind the rea...

Re: Air Ram & Ram Jam, Projects, Prototypes

Hey Sporty, I am loving the direction you are taking with the cars you are building! We may only be chasing our tails but what is the harm? I believe we are on the same page regarding the Venturi tube, but I will just post some thoughts: If the air enters the right front Venturi fender and the restr...
