Hub on wheels from China
I just purchased a couple sets of wheels from our local hobby store. The "Official"wheels do not have the step on the outer hub. They also have a terrible run out and the bore ID is on the small side. Run out is .007 Are all China wheels this way?

Re: Rear axel @ 5/8"" from rear
I heard that Best Track changed their curve a little while ago. Didn't know if this was the reason.
There were a few cars last year that popped wheelies at the bottom of the curve.

Rear axel @ 5/8"" from rear
our pack has a Best track with a pretty abrupt curve at the bottom. Given that we must stay at the standard wheelbase, is there any danger of the extened front end coming in contact with the rail/track? The nose of the car just sticks way out ther with the wheel base slid all the way to the rear.

Re: Short rail height
I'll be sure to take the picture you requested. The race isn't until late March. I was just starting to build the car and thought I'd get an idea of what the track was like. I was surprised by the low rail. Hopefully, it is just the angle of the picture.

Here is a photo of the track. The rail in your photo looks much higher.

Re: Short rail height
All I have are photos of the track. The rail looks low but it may be 1/4". Any issues with the rail being wood for a RR?

Short rail height
I have a race coming up on a wood track that has a very low rail height. I'm very concerned that a RR will jump the track. Anybody have this experience?

Re: COG - Best Track VS Freedom
Beautiful! I'll be sure to cant the DFW down on our cars. There were issues with the sections of the track not lining up. I did see several cars pop wheelies last year, including ours. Last year we did not build RR cars. This year, all will be.

COG - Best Track VS Freedom
The Best Track has a more abrupt transition than the feedom. Do you alter your COG depending on the track?
Is a .5 to .625 COG to aggressive for the Best Track?

Re: Sportys bore prep.
Can you point me to a video of Sporty's Bore and axel prep? I think I have a good idea of what the process is but would love to see it in action.

Re: Competitive times?
Thank you. I'll look into developing this for next years races. Right now we only have one month left. Have built 6 cars and all run about 3.12 on 40' track.
It will be interesting to track the improvements, if I can attain them. This has become an addiction.

Re: Competitive times?
Thats the direction I think I am heading Sporty. I do have a pro body tool to drill the axel holes but need to learn more about drilling axel holes. Just trying to see how fast we can make this little chunk of wood go!

Re: Competitive times?
Being fairly new to this, I don't have much from the past to fall back on. I'll start to keep a log for future reference. The main goal this year is to be competitive and learn a few tricks to being fast. My test track is an anodized 40' freedom with a K3 timer.
