2007 BSA Racer
If I am doing this right, this should be 3 photos of my son's first BSA derby racer. http://img102.mytextgraphics.com/photolava/2007/04/11/hpim1857-4641720vr.jpg http://img104.mytextgraphics.com/photolava/2007/04/11/hpim1859-46417zrmz.jpg http://img101.mytextgraphics.com/photolava/2007/04/11/hpim186...

Re: Glued Axels?
Good idea Humv.. clearly the best of both worlds, a glued axel that indeed could come off easily if needed.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Allow PineCar Kits or Not Next Year?
My wife says I plan too much, but I always start the kids out with them drawing what they want the car to look like for me. I try to translate that into a workable solution for the pine block. If it doesnt work, I try to explain why and have them redesign it. I do some of the initial cuts and they d...

Re: Glued Axels?
Ahh I could see where drilled axel holes would be more difficult to glue. To date, with three children, we've made 1 BSA racer and 3 AWANA racers, all of which all use the slots and not holes. Putting the glue on and keeping it from the wheel is pretty easy. MY issue was more the kids (ages 8, 6 and...

Glued Axels?
In the four cars we did this year, I had the kids help me place the axels. We tested them for straightness, etc. and then I glued them in place, so they wouldnt move.
From reading all the posts, I am now wondering if anyone else does this?

Re: Make Tracks Company
Thank you muchly TAL & Rmoose.
TAL - I think I like the idea of the kit. I'd rather spend my time working with my kids on the racers then ont he track (time is not as plentiful as I'd like).
Rmoose - Good to know they are service oriented! I will check out Quality Tracks as well.

Re: Make Tracks Company
My thoughts exactly Bulldog. "Too good to be true" was the first thing I thought of. I have e-mailed them asking for more data, pictures, schematics and such and will certainly share what I find.

Re: 2007 car "The Blinder"
The wheels changed color from the graphite and the shake and bake process? I thought perhaps they were painted, which I always thought was a no-no speed-wise.

Wonderful looking car! Painting is far from my strong suit, but how did you paint the tiny raised letters on the wheels? It looks so expertly done.

Make Tracks Company
I've enjoyed lurking and reading for a while and so I've decided to jump in with first question post. I bought the blue hot wheels style test track, but would love to have something "better". Three of my five kids are now racer aged and I can't really afford the tracks designed for use by ...
