Re: Pro-Wheel Mandrel from Maximum Velocity

Would a dual-wheel mandrel be of interest? Would it replace the single-wheel version, or would both be desired? I think having both types as an option would be great. I've always wanted one that would do two wheels at once. However, I do understand that that it would be harder to manufacture and ma...

Re: Thin Film Lubricant from Maximum Velocity

Hey Randy,

I like the fact that you did experiments and posted your results to backup your claims. Not many other merchants would go so far.

Of course, you know that somewhere out there is an even better lubricant. The search goes on...

Re: Where are there plans to build a Space Derby track?

My sons haven't done a Space Derby yet, but I found these two sites that had some info on the track. http://www.bsa.net/co/p467/RunningASpaceDerby2.html http://www.pack982.org/Links/SpaceDerby/SpaceDerbyInfo.html It sounds like there is a BSA How-To book with plans in it. Are there any other Space D...

Re: When is your race?

We normally hold our race in November, about two weeks before Thanksgiving. This is usually better than trying to do it in the Spring with Awana Games, Bible Quiz, Easter, Scholarship Camp, and other activities going on. However, this year, due to church schedule conflicts, we had to move it to Janu...

Re: To True or not to True, that is the question!

However, I race with the awana wheels and the problem that I haven't been able to overcome is the wobbling of the wheels when they are spun on an axle, even after they have been trued. Any suggestions? This thread http://derbytalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=58 has some info on wheel wobble and axle OD vs ...

Re: Speed impact of various types of lubrication

gpraceman, I looked while here at work this morning and could not find it either. Maybe it was just in the e-mail that I received at home or it had a page that isn't linked to the Max-V site yet. I guess I received the e-mail since I ordered from them last year. Randy was kind enough to send me the...

Re: Speed impact of various types of lubrication

Okay guys, Randy's secret lube is out! Check the Max-V web site and you will see what I mean. I got my wife order some for me today (hmmm, wonder what I'm going to have to do to repay her?). Even if we can't use it for racing, I wanted to get some to play with myself. Da Graphite Kid (If this stuff...

You may also want to sand off the Awana Grand Prix lettering on the wheels, since with outer lane guides they will probably rub against the guides.

Re: My Family's Cars

Neat collection :!: , but I wouldn't expect any different from the family of MaxV.

I take it that the nose of the Dominator is meant as a cheater bar, to try to get moving before the others cars do at the start? Didn't it throw off the weight distribution?

Plexiglass Track

Here's an Awana club that built a plexiglass and aluminum track. It looks pretty cool.
