Re: GPRM scheduling suggestion?
Does adding two filler cars make it pn? I want to go to two lanes for the final because I am embarrassed about the slow lane and it could impact the outcome of the race. The rest of the race committee wants three lanes for the main race but will agree to two lanes for the finals... Having inspected...

Re: District track Tune? what to do?
A com of 7/8" sounds fine... Can you send your drift numbers for 4 feet? I would consider prepping a few extra wheels and axles fro the front and see which is the most quiet. The bend of the front axle is not that important and very fast cars have a wide variance on the axle bend... I would kee...

Re: GPRM scheduling suggestion?
19 car ppn is not accurate enough to produce a quality ranking you plan for the drag race. Two fillers and run 21 car ppn (pn, actually) improves accuracy and is maybe good enough to do the ranking. However, 6 runs on 3 lanes gives possible point spread of 6 through 18, i.e. 13 possible final score...

Re: GPRM scheduling suggestion?
Thanks everyone! thinking about the following: Three lane track 1 race with 19 cars and PPN (2 rounds). Should I have two filler cars? For the finals pick the top six cars (awarding 3 places). Have a drag race: 6th place -vs- 5th place. winner races 4th place. Winner races 3rd place. winner races 2n...

Re: Drill Press vs. Dremel for axle polishing?
Yep, I run them both at the same time. When I would put the nail in a vise and try to go around it with the Dremel, the nail would tend to "grab" it at different positions. With the drill press turning the nail for me I can maintain an even pressure and I don't get that "grab". ...

Re: Rear alignment diagnosis please (RACE RESULTS ADDED)
Thanks! My boys are drilling their bodies this weekend. We are still debating straight drills versus canted. Our bending tool only offers 1.5 and 2.5 degree bends so it seems drill and live with (or re-drill) or bend and play with. Coin toss might be needed. I would prep two wheels and axles that w...

Re: Help! Taking inventory of many supplies and deciding pro
You are in deep :-) I confess to having most of those items and then some :-) For the axles the Brasso is a nice finishing polish. Then clean with Alcohol. For sure drill the rear axles holes at 2.5 degrees and leave the axles straight. I also like the two graphite technique. However my favorite gra...

Thanks Everyone! Say we need a runoff for a tie between two cars? Race to two losses or a better approach?

Re: Weighting tips for standard base
With a standard wheel base car you really want the COM between 5/8 and 3/4. You don't want to be more aggressive than that. The sloppier the build the longer the COM. Many cars simply do better at 3/4" and that is at the PRO level... though many PRO cars are at 5/8.

We use a dremel in a dremil drill press stand mounted sideways. Easy to use inside at the kitchen table.

Re: Rear alignment diagnosis please (RACE RESULTS ADDED)
Congrats! Remember: 1) Drill rears first and roll down plank to check alignment. If not perfect discard and start over before proceeding further. 2) Weight on DFW for a given wheelbase is determined by COM. For excellent prep and alignment 5/8 - 3/4 " is a sweet spot. 3) Wiggle at the very end ...

GPRM scheduling suggestion?
Using GPRM. We have 19 cars and we have one very slow lane (slight exaggeration but it is noticeable to an untrained observer). We want each car to race at lease 6 times and we want every car to run in each lane an even amount of times. In the end we will pick four cars for a final race off to deter...

Does not get any better then that. I would call Sporty, he had very similar rules. The most painful being all 4 wheels touching. Hi Sporty!
