Re: GrandPrix Race Manager Version 9.0 Released
WOW! The new version is fantastic! It really makes using it even easier and the way it works during the races is wonderful. It is so good that I even went back and regenerated some of the reports for older races. I'll be using it at the upcoming Lima Land Fall Classic race Sept. 19th if people want ...

Relative Density being a ratio, has no units. . . . Specific Density is relative to water. ========================== http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relative_density" target="_blank Relative density, sometimes called specific density, is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density...

Re: PwdRacing HEAVY Weights
The density of the rounds is 12.2 to 12.5 depending on the specific batch that I get the material from. The Hotmelt sticks are 10 to 10.5 in the current batch. The extruded flat pieces are 12.0 from the second experimental run. We should be able to hit the 12 to 12.5 range with the production runs a...

Re: PwdRacing HEAVY Weights
They are 4 ounces total in the 3 sticks. They don't have a completely positive review - you need to have a 20Watt mini hot melt glue gun and it takes time. . . . I am working to see if we can get them reformulated for better flow. In the mean time we have the regular round rods that are denser then ...

Re: PwdRacing HEAVY Weights
The PwdRacing HEAVY Weights made from advanced composites from Tundra (tm) are ready to start rolling down the tracks! HEAVIER then Pb(lead) and easier to use then W(tungsten) The sticks are 3/8" diameter and about 4" long and 2 weigh 4 oz. These are NON-TOXIC! The nice part is that all of...

Re: Track section length
Lots of people have non-8ft sections.
The BetaCraft Aluminum plating is 93" long(3" less then 8ft)
The BestTrack sections are 7ft long.
I would recommend going with a shorter then 8ft section.

Re: Cant question
A very small amount of toe-in on the DFW will help to steer towards the rail AND keep the wheel at the head of the nail. Slight bend in axle - 1.5 to 2 degrees. Use of a "K-House Groove" really helps with the tuning. Hope that helps. K-House Groove: a slot cut into the head of the axle to ...

Re: Timer upgrade
If you know the type of your sensors, the Microwizard kit may be just the ticket. I have used their kit and the sensors are basically a detector on the bottom and the emitter on the top. I have changed the wires so they are phone cable plugins so I can move the timers to different locations on the t...

Re: Can boats be built just prior to the race?
For several years we used to make a day of the RR. The kids were given the kits at 10am. by 10:15 they were on their way to building their own boats. The parents started the annual planning meeting. Around noon the parents took a break and handed out the spray paint for the kids to use. We used stic...
