Re: Rail Riding Wobble - Please Advise
I've also seen first hand from a pack race on a four lane track that there was an outside lane between sections 3 & 4 that it was not aligned perfectly and caused all the rail riding cars riding to the left to wobble the rest of the way to the finish line. Cars that appeared to rail ride to the ...

Lap (Heat) times on a 42ft BestTrack
Don't know how I missed this site: http://www.rentmytrack.com/default.aspx But it has a great aggregate of A LOT of historical racing times based on the 4 lane All Aluminum track (42 foot length, 38 feet from start line to finish line) with laser starting gate... On the left hand screen under Result...

Re: Lap (Heat) times on a 49ft BestTrack..
Take these numbers in light of all the discussion here........... Last weekend, my son's car ran in a 4 heat format on a 4 lane, 48' Freedom track, one race in each lane. His average time was 3.1734, first place winner. The next best five cars averages were: 3.1815, 3.2069, 3.2285, 3.2297 & 3.2...

That's quite a fleet there, and great stat breakdown on the cars too.
Let us know how everything turns out.

Re: Lap (Heat) times on a 49ft BestTrack..
Those times are consistent with our times using the 48' All-Aluminum 'Freedom Series' track. That is a fast car and since you probably don't have access to a track I would not touch it. Find out what kind of track your District will be using. The same, or the old wooden track, and what length....48-...

Wooden Q-Tips / Wheel Bore Polishing
I was in our local drug store looking for some smaller diameter q-tips and came across some wooden shaft q-tips. They looked fairly thinner than all the paper ones. Well, they fit very nicely into the wheel bore. My thoughts were to put the wooden q-tips shafts into the drill and sand then perfectly...

Polishing Compounds - Micron Size
Anyone know or have a link to a chart that might list what micron level is for the popular polishing compounds? (Black Emery, Brown Tripoli, White Diamond, Green Stainless, Red Jeweler's Rouge, and Blue All-Purpose)
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Tungsten Custom-machined
Just got back from Home Depot and purchased a diamond cutting wheel for my dremel. Cuts through the tungsten like butter...(cut through the tungsten here in 15-20 seconds with the exact setup in the pictures) Had to create a jig though to achieve straight cuts...turned out much better than I expecte...
