Re: New BSA Wheel and Axle??

Just because MOST people can't inspect for it does not mean it is ok - it is still cheating for most groups where reducing the bore is prohibited.

Cheating is cheating.

Character is what you do when no one is watching!

What would your kid think if they knew you cheated?

Re: Flex design - is it suspension or not?

How about deflection based on a static load placed on the car? Maybe something like:

"The center of the car may not deflect more than 1/16" when a load of 3 ounces is placed on the top of the car."

Re: New BSA Wheel and Axle??

I visited RacerX at DerbyWorx in Millstadt, Illinois on the way back from the Lima, Ohio race and learned that the difference between the old wheels and new wheels is actually "Black and White" - - easy to spot from across the store! :bigups: http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii222/PwdRac...

Re: Mold-matched wheels

MaxV had a great study of wheels a while back. CHECK OUT: http://www.maximum-velocity.com/wheelaxleqa.htm#bsamold What I have been able to show others easily is on the "old" style wheels, the "bad/poor" mold numbers were classified that way due to the center of the axle bore not ...

Re: 100th Anniversary Semi Truck?

yep! I got one too! The box is the trailer with the pre-printed logos OR there is a white sleeve that you can put over the pre-printed box. The BEST part of the big-rig is the wheels! Since it is a new product they are the NEW BSA WHEELS. The only sure way of getting 18 new wheels that I have heard ...

Re: Inexpensive Paint Booths

So what would one do if one doesn't have access to a window?

The paint must be water based, right? Otherwise the fan would have to be explosion proof.

Do you have kids sanding while the paint booth is being used? I see a potential for dust problems. . .

Re: Guinness Book of World Records Pinewood Derby Track 9/25/10

As far as the slope of the "flat" portion, I would suggest 1.5" per 7' or 8' section. A well aligned car will roll down this without losing too much speed. The razor wheeled pro-modified cars will actually pick up speed with that amount of slope. The nice part is that this amounts to ...

I will keep an eye out at the local garage sales for old hockey pucks. I was unaware of their many uses. ;) Here in Minnesota they are very common!

Re: PwdRacing HEAVY Weights

Things to add in the future! :D The feedback was to allow the weights to be cut in any shape - so that if you have a car that gets narrow you can trim the weights to fit. I could probably come up with a method of marking some sort of increment . . . I initially wanted to sell it as a single long str...

Re: PwdRacing HEAVY Weights

The Heavy Weights can all be cut/carved/drilled/sanded to desired shape/size/weight. The material that is currently available is the "12.5 density" compound. To calculate the amount needed use the volume in cubic centimeters times 12.5, following: Rectangle shape: Width(cm) X Height(cm) X ...

Re: New BSA Wheel and Axle??

FYI, I just got the 100th Anniversary Edition of the Big Rig kit. All of the wheels are the NEW style! I'm going to guess that since this is a new product this year all of the kits will have the new wheels. The sad thing is that the trailer is a cardboard box. . . you will have to find your own piec...
