Tried it, adhesive failed after a few contacts with stop section.

Re: Garrett and his First place car

I would also echo K's sentiment. I appologize if my posts appeared to question ethics or integrity. As mentioned, I was surprized car was allowed to race as is. Most cars that show up on DT with similar frontal design were required to close the V via wire or some other material.

Re: Problems with car on stop section

Rubberized tool box liner works as well. Light and thin.

Re: Thanks for all the help.

Race day pressure gel CA. We would try to root out potential problems during inspection. Weight simply glued to top or bottom of car or ornamentation was pointed out to owner as potential problem. We advised them to secure it by better means to insure it remains on car during contact in stop section...

Re: Do you hold back info locally?

When so involved, do you 1. Change the car yourself with no explanation, 2. Change the car yourself with explanation, or 3. Explain the changes while the owner makes the changes? What are the teaching/sharing considerations for each alternative? We supplied information and hands on demonstration at...

Re: Garrett and his First place car

I guess I've never felt this to be an advantage since the sensors on most tracks are dead center each lane that we've raced on. At least not w/o a "roo-bar" and piece of black tape or something that extends above and forward of the starting pin. Nor I. Just surprized it was allowed to rac...

OK. So I assume the starting pin was down in base of the V, placing the wheels a bit ahead of starting pin?

Re: Do you hold back info locally?

I love helping others get their car faster. Good for you! 8) I feel the same. My son didn't always agree. In some ways a blow out victory is a bit hollow. Raise the level of competition and it becomes more rewarding, imo. I am as competitive as most, except I don't hate losing just prefer winning .

Re: Do you hold back info locally?

He led our most recent workshop and I assisted, looking for reassurance on only the more technical. That is wonderful! You must be so proud... Yes Darin, very proud. We discussed it a week prior to workshops, he had some doubt. I reassured him I would be there if he stumbled or went astray. It amaz...

Re: Do you hold back info locally?

We reasoned, if we get beat by our own advise it is because they worked harder, prepared better, possibly used the info more creatively and deserved the win. That should read "I reasoned....". My son had a difficult time digesting giving away a competitive advantage. His understanding dee...

Re: Do you hold back info locally?

My sons first year in PWD, a few cars failed to finish and had to be "helped" across finish line. I vowed that should never happen. Following year we began offering workshops to all interested. Our goal; every car will finish. As a result all cars finished and overall pack became more comp...

Re: Hub-body friction

Theory supposes a model. Model are always approximate to some level; details are necessarily left out of theory because they are too hard to model precisely. So theory gets one to a certain point, after which observational evidence completes the picture. However, the conclusions from observations c...
