IMO I would think you'd want a positive cant.........Because if you do have any side friction as the car goes down the track the top part of the wheel shouldn't rub up against the car. when running a positive cant I don't believe you want to much cant for you'd take the chance of running on the nubs...

As I recall, one of the goals in setting the dimensions was to get the wheel to make the same number of rotations as it would in going along a 28' track in the same time a car running such wheels would require. But the 2" / 2 ounces was an approximation. But now that guys have over 28 ft long ...

I think that most people would agree a good com to have ranges from 3/4 to 1 1/4 inch in front of the rear wheels......I know everyone has there own personal favorite COM but if your in this range I think your car would be good

How about jeweler's rouge? I've got some that came with a dremel polishing kit, that I've used on axles in previous years. Does anyone know how jeweler's rouge compares to Mother's Mag? Personally i think the rule stinks. you get a group of kids building cars and youre lucky to have 3 wheels touching. I agree.....Our troop ask that all four touch and every year half the cars do and half the cars don't........I don't think that the boy/parent cheats its just how they insert the axl...

I think as long as the front wheels are used in the farther back slot there wouldn't be a issue for the pillows...........But if your allowed to move your wheels base up then I might go with a pine 1 by....that would be a little more stable then balsa
