Re: Nerdette

Hi VK, I see that you have been making friends over on the league forum. LOL!!! You should consider joining my posse. We could use a scrappy guy like you! Thanks for fixing the photo Nick. You are correct VK. I am using the wheel weights to balance the weight on the rear wheels. Nerdette has 3D prin...

Nerdette

Hi Sporty and Whoda, Things have been busy lately, but not so much so that I have no time for my favorite puzzle. Gentlemen... It is my pleasure to present to you the very glamorous (and nearly finished) Nerdette! [img] [IMG]http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a569/lasermanNYC/IMG_5437_zpswtzijnek.j...

Re: Making Wheels Round

A machinist would be able to turn a rod down in the fashion of the the Derby Worx tool (Pro Hub Tool?) with a pin that is a hair bigger or smaller... Perhaps a series of these pins would get things pretty snug in that respect. I have always wondered about what the pin does to the inside of the bore ...

Re: Devising a test to catch instability

Hi Stan,
Why not have the car on the inside of the cylinder. Kind of like a hampster with a 4' diameter?
Getting that big cylinder spinning might take some precision parts. It would be amusing though.
Thanks

Re: small diameter axles vs larger?

I don't really care either about a debate over axle size. I've got a toolbox full of .091 oblong axles. My main point is, should I use a smaller diameter axle or larger diameter axle with stock wheel bores. Hi Davet, Where did you get these .091" axles? Awana? In theory, and in a perfect world...

Re: Air Ram & Ram Jam, Projects, Prototypes

Sporty, This is possibly the greatest thread I have ever read on DT or the other forums. Even if a definitive answer cannot be given as to speed, SOMETHING will definitely happen. If, like Sporty surmised, the DFW stays off the axle head then that will be an effect. Perhaps a new form a steering can...

Re: Pinewood Derby Car Mini-Lathe

This is great! I always wondered what would be possible with the Derby Worx Pro Wheel Shaver. Can it really bring the wheel to within .001" of round? When I got mine I realized that sharpening the blade on a sharpening stone greatly improved it's performance. Knotty, That tool you made looks we...
