Re: New Graphite Comparisons

Has anyone had any issues with Pinewood Extremes Exreme graphite running out too early? We switched for to the Extreme graphite for districts and we had the car significantly slow down in the championship races (which would of only been race #8 for the car because the needed to rerun on heat). We lo...

Re: RaceCream District runs: Disappointing

We also built a rail rider with the best wheels and axels we have produced so far. There was no shimmy and it did ride straight and true. We had just under 1 oz on the front wheel. It was fast and would of taken first in my son's den but at district it got blown away. A rear weighted wing was far su...

Re: '06 District Car

Wasn't it the general thought that you wanted your weights as close together right around the COM? Kinda like a ball around your COM? We just built three cars and the one we weighted with tungsten cubes 4 wide, 3 deep and two high right in front of the back axel and had teh COM right in the middle o...

Re: Basic Alignment

Distroy means we cracked the axel slot....we glued it back together and it will be ok to goof around with by not race.

If you toe in the left back wheel and/or toe out the right back wheel, shouldnt the car turn to the right?

Basic Alignment

  :x We just distroyed a one of the best cars we put together .... finally got the paint job right ... had the most agressive but we thought stable weight set up ... we even set it up to take advantage of rail riding .... The issue .... We could not for the life of us get the car to turn ...

Re: '06 District Car

Very cool design! Is there a purpose for the body being off center (other than looking really cool of course)? Thanks guy's! Stan explained it allot better than I ever could, but that was the effect we have been working on. I also believe it helps stability in the transition. Moving the weight fart...

We are purchasing one from quality tracks. It is currently being built and can give you an idea of what it is like once I receive it. I did get a sample of the wood and that is top quaility.

Re: Axle Polishing--Pressure & Time

I believe Pinewood Extreme's polishing cloths are nothing but a polishing cloth put out by 3M. http://multimedia.mmm.com/mws/mediawebserver.dyn?6666660Zjcf6lVs6EVs666Ho5COrrrrQ- goes to 1 micron. the micro mesh 1200mx i believe is 3 micron http://www.sisweb.com/micromesh/products.htm Your correct a...

Re: New Track Supplier

I ordered a two lane Friday. At the last minute I decided against the DIY kit and went with the original model. When it comes, feedback will be posted. We order a two lane also. So far they have been very good to deal with. We should be getting our track soon and will give everyone some feedback. F...

Re: Derby Champ's "Bullet Lube"

We used it and liked it better than Hobby Lube. It was finer and took less break-in time. We won with it at the pack but the lube was just one piece of the puzzle. We will be switching over to Pinewood Extreme's lube for districts so we will see if we can see any significant difference.

Re: Pre-Cut Chaos -- a no-no for Show or Go?

I don't think you should allow pre-cuts into the "show" category. Maybe adding rules specifically for "show" that prohibit pre-cuts and stress creativity and originality might be the easiest way to handle this. Our pack doesn't judge a "Best In Show", yet, so we have n...

Re: Axle Polishing--Pressure & Time

We have used Unigrit papers, however they have a
"P" in front of the grit so what I thought was a fine 3000grit I believe only goes down to around 7 or 8 microns. I like knowing the microns vs. the grit. Grits can be very misleading.

Do you use the regular Micro-Mesh or the Micro-Mesh AL?

Has anyone used Pinewood Extremes EXTREME axel polishing kit where they use polishing cloths instead?
