Re: Treadmill

The tuning board has served me well as I don't have a track set up yet. In fact, I've only seen my league cars run in person once at MA in '22! A suggestion.... get a piece of glass as the sound of the wheels tells you a lot about the car!! Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk Like make a tuning bo...

Re: Design for less wobble?

Got a pic of the car and perhaps a pic of the weight placement? Center rail on the track in the middle or just the outer edges of the lane? Just need a bit more info to give an opinion.

You’ll also want to put something over the holes to cover them up
Like clear packing tape.. this will help with drag and keep you from catching air under the car on race day.
This is the way.

Re: Lifted Wheel - Treated or Stock - Does it Matter?

Is there any advantage or maybe a little bit more speed that can be gained.. by also toeing in the lifted wheel slightly so that air is deflected around the lifted wheel cavity. I'm thinking by toeing it in.. that if it were to also hit the rail that the contact patch of the wheel surface to the ra...

Re: Drill Size vs. Axle Size

I honestly prefer #43, even for BSA. It works great for Maximum Velocity axles too. If you drill a hole and it's a tad loose, it's pretty easy to snug it up a bit. My preferred method is just to dip a toothpick in some glue, insert it into the hole, twist it around, pull it out, let the glue dry an...

Re: Wheel Bore to Axle Clearance for Graphite

I was given a tip from a racer that is faster than I am. Use the same axle to bore clearance for graphite as oil. FWIW

Re: Rule Interpretation

This rule means no riding on top of the rail. Rail riding is against the rail. All cars hit the rail at some point, RR just does it in a controlled fashion. My guess is someone made some crazy experiment that rode on the rail, and they didn't care for that! Lol But, when in doubt........ask! Sent fr...

Re: Straight axel rail rider

Does it matter how much actual weight is on the front wheel as long as the COG is in the correct place?

Checking the weight of the dfw is a bit more precise way to set up a car.
What kind of track is it? Do you get any test runs?

Re: Straight axel rail rider

Currently planning to build car based on “flying-wedge” design but going to modify to be a rail rider with canted wheels. My pack doesn’t allow bent axles. I have the pinewood pro driller jig but it appears that it only allows to drill for negative camber. I know I can shim it to create a toe-in bu...

1/4" tungsten cubes is the best way to weight a thin car.

Re: Drilling Angled Holes in the Original Slots?

Opinions? Advantages/disadvantages of each? I think the $95 gives good value. It can do everything the $125 model can. The only advantage would be a fixed wheelbase, but that wouldn't bother me. My jig needs to be adjusted for every wheelbase, and it hasn't been a problem. Sent from my SM-G991U usi...
