Re: New Pinewood Derby Book

FatSebastion, I'm not sure why Troy deleted his initial post also. I have used his designs & patterns book to build most all the cars in there like his jeep and red car seen on the cover. Even today, I find myself using a few of his tips as well and the tips out of David Mead's speed secrets boo...

And the vendor states: imperfections in the plastic cause friction where the wheel rubs aganist the derby car body. So he squared the hub off becau...

Re: Adjusting for dead straight running - no RR

So most of my problem this year is that I started WAY too early and have the opportunity to tweak and 'adjust' the heck out of the car So this year we built 2 cars (a snake and a broadhead arrow design) and we are 'testing them out' to see which he likes better. We have not done any axle prep or wh...

I find it interesting the lable on new krylon rattle can douse not indicate which type of paint it is. The older krylon paint rattle cans for the inter...

Re: Painting car with krylon

Wow! Ask and you shall receive. Incidentally I was at a Hobby Lobby last Saturday as well and walked past the airbrushes and that got me thinking a little bit about them. I didn't have time to stop and stare so maybe I'll plan for that next trip. I almost picked up the Testors caned air airbrush ki...

Re: Rail Riding Questions (Conflicts)

Should one keep the lifted wheel from spining up if it happens to bump the rail
or should we just leave it and let it spin up if it were to bump the rail ?

FS, you are a big help thanks for the info.

Re: Painting car with krylon

Re: Rail Riding Questions (Conflicts)

Slotting the axle head has two potential issues: I might add a third issue; namely, that it is not easy for a child to accomplish. At least, we have had our issues trying to create a nicely slotted axle head with a dremel tool (sometimes called a KHouse groove or KHouse slot ). This thread is devot...

Re: Painting car with krylon

Machanic & BallBoy, I,ve had the same problems with the krylon paints here lately. I can't count how many times i've had some good luck with it as well. But here lately it has been cracking up on me as well. I don't know if it's something wrong with the primer.. every time i used the primer with...
