Re: Beat, but not BEATEN!!!
LOL lightly sanded! Yeah right. Those are 1 or 1.8 gram wheels, trust me they were not made by the scout! (unless his dad is Warpspeed) I suggest an eye chart be set up near inspection table. All in good fun of course. Or a member of another well known racing league out West. Depending on how the r...

Bubba's other car
Bubba,
You have been busy haven't you. Brings new meaning to Wood Car racing but I don't think that this will fit on the track.

Re: District Champion -- despite "new" rules

Here is a question......with all of these problems that I have benn reading about from the racers here...

Re: Our 2007 Derby Cars (In Progress)
Don't worry about the Waffles.......this is a custom car painter's technique for making paint look like carbon fiber.   For the technique..... You get one of those tray liners that have the little hole shaped like squares. First spray your black base, let dry completely, then lay...

Re: Testor's Spray Paint & Plastic Model NASCAR Decals!!
hey here is a trick I learned from a model car builder. If you want to paint a raised area of the wheels try using a silver Prismacolor pencil. This will also work for the spokes.

Re: Our 2007 Derby Cars (In Progress)
All the cars looks fatastic! Being a patient painter is not an easy accomplishment and it looks like your son did rather well with what HE wanted to accomplish. I like the fact that it has his "fingerprints" all over the car to show that he did it. And the Flames that he was representing t...

Re: Our 2007 Cars. On to District!
3/8" clearance rule at WIRL is Critical! Last year they would not allow another racer to race eventhough you could get one of their rear wheels to roll by sliding a piece of paper between the the rear wheel and the go-nogo guage.

Re: Our 2007 Cars. On to District!
A 1/2"x1" piece of 1/64" thick Aircraft Birch Plywood would get you that "Bare wood" place for the WIRL stamp. Just wood glue it in place and send it off.

A 2 liter plastic soda bottle could also work if the diameter is the right size.
