Re: Axle Comparison

Off Topic but interesting. I think there would be no violence with the tar and feather thing but a person not only would probably be illegal, it would also be foolish. The 1999 mold wheels are not as good as the 2009 mold wheels. Being concerned with 4 mold numbers matching seems a little silly to m...

Re: Critique my wheel spin/wobble?

Those BSA - Made in USA nails can be nasty little things. If you check the diameter with a caliper you'll find it can range from .087 to .090, at least on the one I'm playing with right now. Folks will position them at the widest area. Can you use the BSA axles Made in China? There's going to be slo...

Scrollsawer, does that $10.00 fee keep any scout from racing?

Re: New Products for the 2014 Season at Derby Evolution

I'd like it if you would shift the wheelbase in one of your models with stock slots so there is only 5/8" from rear axle slot to end of car.
Looking forward to seeing your new models.

Re: Newbie back again

I did it at my home. I entered a race a few weeks back put on by the Rossford, Ohio Rec. center to benefit the BSA. I used my Mid America car which allows grams over 5 oz. I had to change the wheels and axles to make the car legal since I had 1.4 gram wheels on the car and that put me more overweigh...

Wheels by Stan Pope

Stan, I suspect you have compared the wheels you machine to that of the vendors. Do the vendors put out "Super Wheels" somehow or can wheels be duplicated by a person with the necessary equipment and practice?

Re: Newbie back again

Looking really Good, Team davet. I had a Nasty experience a few weeks ago. That being said, I would take advantage of Tungsten Putty for Peace of Mind. If you are forced to grind tungsten to make weight, it will take time, the tungsten will get hot and the paint will blister. You don't want to have ...

Whoda, you might consider putting pictures of your builds on a disc. I hope someday your cars find their way to a museum. Beautiful work.

Re: Newbie back again

My mind doesn't work for the left side. OK, I'm kidding. Let's see now. I would say you would adjust between 6 and 9 o'clock for POSITIVE camber and toe-in. At 6 o'clock you will have maximum POSITIVE CAMBER and no toe. As you move the nail towards 9 o'clock you will begin to have toe-in and the cam...

Cover the car with Plastic

There is a Revell car kit that has a thin plastic piece that is a car body. The plastic is already in color so it doesn't even need painting. The directions explain how to cut the block and then glue the cover onto the block. I suspect it could be held on the block with double face tape. I'm not so ...
