Sporty,
I am always looking at new products. If the interest was there I would consider it.

Re: Derby Evolution Sale and Clearance Items
I just wanted to let you guys know that some of the items are going very quickly and if you are wanting something at the discount or clearence price that you should get it before it is gone. The clearence items will not be stocked again, so if it is a Derby Evolution item you will never see them aga...

Re: Using a Stencil for Painting
Thank you for posting this. It is a great example of how a painting stencil from any of the vendors can dress up a car. Adding a little flare to a car by painting with a stencil can make a young mans race. It often sets their car apart from the rest of the field. Even if every child has the same ste...

Re: Using a Stencil for Painting
I have found that lifting the stencil off while the paint is slightly tacky is better. I use a lot of House of Kolor paint and I let it dry, but my coats are very thin. If you spray it to heavy and your surface is not prepared correctly you could pull some of your paint up when lifting the stencil i...

Re: Back up car??
While I agree with 5Kids about finding out the rules, I would suggest building more then one car anyways. I have seen many times a car get messed up along the way. This puts the builder back at square one. Since you are setting things up to make one car, it makes sense to make a second car (a back u...

Derby Evolution Sale and Clearance Items
I have had several people ask me for one of my great sales. I am not only answering their requests, but digging much deeper and having the biggest sale ever. Since I have having a great sale, I decided it was time to close out some items. These items are marked as low as they are going to go. Most o...

Re: Do Rules Help?
There are vendors out there that sell wheels with the step left in, I am one of them. There are also vendors out there that will prep those wheels, I am not one of them. Many of the top league racers do not ream their bores. The wheels can be purchased in just about any configuration from multiple v...

Re: Do Rules Help?
Keeping rules simple and easy to enforce is important! The rules should clearly spell out what is not legal, not what is legal. By saying that something is legal it sometimes limits peoples ideas and gives people the impression that it is the only way. I believe a good way to do this is to provide p...

Re: Wheel question
Of course the only interpretation that counts is that of the inspectors and race organizers. One should always ask if there is any doubt as to the interpretation of a rule. That way the organizers are aware that their rules are in need of clarification, and the Scout avoids disqualification. I agre...

Re: Wheel question
Therefore, to explicitly call out these sources within the rules (out of the kit, local Scout shop, or BSA supply) seems to signal that there may be an intent that parts be acquired by the Scout in an unmodified state. While it could appear that the intent is that they purchase the products from th...

Re: Wheel question
1. Wheels must either be the Official B.S.A. wheels provided in the Pinewood Derby Kit or the new multi-colored Official BSA Pinewood Derby wheels that are available online at http://www.scoutstuff.org" target="_blank or at the local Scout Shops. The new wheels are available in the followi...
