Built first BSA car WOW

Post by asatxj »

I'm an Awana GP guy and offered to help a fellow teacher build a car with his son (dad has zero mech skill) So I applied the usual technology (BSA speed axles, polish, Nye Oil. alignment tools). When I was done I put it on the test track and thought "Hmm, not bad but would be slow compared to a GP car" Well, I sent him off to his pack race and he finished with 10 firsts and 2 seconds (older kids beat him 2x) AWESOME. He has Districts tomorrow. I hope he does well.
I would love to build a car using BSA wheels and Awana axles (larger diameter, straight, no burs) I think it would fly. So the question is, has anyone done it?
