Axle Source Needed..

Post by billbillb »

Does anybody have a good source for custom axles that are already polished and ready to use "right out of the box" ?

I can not speak for or endorse any of the makers,
but go to the "Derby Products and Sercives" forum. There are serveral vendors there.

Most of the derby suppliers have ready made axles. Usually fall into two categories. BSA axles that they prep for you. Usually around $10 a set. Or they will have pin axles. This type will only set you back $2 or $3 a set. They are usually have a little larger diameter than BSA axles. The axles are manufactured much nicer than a nail axle. They usually do not have a point at the end. In most BSA races the pin axles are illegal.

You can buy either of these at PWDextreme.com, WinDerby.com, Max-velocity.com or other PWD supply places.

We have bought some axels off the internet and we were not that impressed. Better off buying a dremil and polishing the axels your self. We found that our home made axels were faster and more fun to make.
