I am doing lots of things different, I first have to get the kids doing what I have learned so they can do it, Since plenty of time yet before scout race. This should not be a issue.

However, my one son is interested in different type of car this year. So our goal may not be to go fast next year.

My child said the same, won fastest car last year, sibling won best design. Said would prefer to have best design than fastest car.

:scratching: That makes me think a little. This will be our boys' last year. I think I really need to ask them what they want to build and take the time to make it. We'll see ...

Straight axles drilled at angle in the rear instead of bending axles (on rears). It will be interesting to see if my Son and other Cub Scouts can beat me! I am now Cub Master. I will teach them all the tricks in work shops at our house.

Since my son crossed over to Boy Scouts last Spring, I'll have my garage available this Winter for the first time in 6 years. ;) Have to put the track & timer up for sale soon.

Who says you have to build for design or speed. We have always made good looking cars that also happened to be quite fast.

 Even your presentations of making good-looking cars are good looking! I have especially enjoyed the many picturesque shots of half-finished car bodies posed amid a small pile of wood shavings.

are actually some of the wood pieces removed from the PWD car (they are swept up and placed in the photo background, photographed then vacuumed up).
