Post by The Iceman »

I'd like to manually make the Axle holes and I'm not seeing anything out there. Could I get a couple of recomendations?

Thanks

I'm a little confused as to what you're asking. Do you mean a guide for drilling axle holes?

I think you are asking about for a pin vice to use along with your drilling guide? Something like this?

I like the pin vise you reference with the chuck-less head, rather than the one commonly offered by some derby vendors which requires a wrench to tighten. We actually ruined one of the cheap ones by over-tightening it (the bit was always slipping).

Heres an Idea you might like as well for a pin vise.
use a mini drill chuck for a cordless screwdriver that turns slower then a cordless drill.

The drill chuck shown first in the photo is an old black&decker cordless screwdriver drill chuck.
Sometimes I'll use it for a pin vise also with a hand powerd twist type screwdriver...
or I'll use a cordless type screwdriver when I'm drilling alot of small holes.

There are several different types of pen vise's seen in the photo...
The long black handle type that is seen 2nd is a model car builders type of pin vise.
That can also be used with a small vise and the handle for holding small model parts,
or changed up as a knife or a saw.
Then there is a ball head swivel type seen 3rd.. from Zona tool.
Then the swivel head types seen 4th & 5th.
The next two seen are welders torch tip drill type pin vise's
Then there are some twist/slide style pin vise drill also.. the last few seen are pocket drills.
Some types that dont have in the way of pin vise's:
Are the Double end pin vise or the high precision-mirco pin vise.

The very top pin vise seen in the photo by FS,
for it's name and type it's called the Heavy Duty pin vise.
What type of automobile can be spelled the same forwards & backwards?
