I'm having my first outlaw race. 7 oz car with wafer wheels. Can I railride with bent axles or do I just run straight with these wheels? If I railride, any different drift length?

I assume by wafers, you mean razor wheels?

I don't have a whole lot of experience running razors. My advice would be: Run straight wheels in the rear, and use positive camber on your DFW wheel in front.

I would use as little drift as possible, provided you stay on the rail. Assuming the track is smooth and clean.

What about the rears rubbing/hitting the center rail?

With razor wheels the wheel bores in
over all width is 0.180 or there about!
So there not as long in wheel bore as stock BSA wheels.

The wheels however have a smaller contact patch with the track surface..With there precision edge.

Plus some razor wheels but not all !
Have an anti friction strip..
This means the wheel sides are beveled to minimize contact with the lane guide.

So I'm with VK and his thoughts
on running straight wheels in the rear!

This is interesting. My good friend built one of these cars and he would always beat my Mid America car by about an inch. His car weighed 5 ounces and he ran the wheels straight up and down. He raced the car in several different races and the car was never beaten. Our Pack leader also built one of these but it wasn't as fast as my Mid America car.
If my goal was to win an OUTLAW race no matter what the cost, I would write to Randy Davis of Maximum Velocity, tell him my rules, and ask him what I need for this race and how to build it.
Chances are no one is going to spend the money to try to beat you. Orrr, maybe someone will. This is rather exciting!
