Weight placement, cog question
Weight placement, cog question
Assuming I have cog 3/4” in front of rear axle, does it matter if there is NO weight towards front or should I add some weight towards front?
Re: Weight placement, cog question
That's a really good question. There's a lot of variables. There will always be some weight on the dfw but How Much would depend on the design of the car. Our basically stock wedge car will handle the Best track with a 3/4" CG. I always end up increasing the toe-in after tuning the car on the Best track. I never thought of putting a bit more weight up front to see if the speed would increase with increasing the toe-in. I will have an opportunity to do that in a few weeks. I'll see what happens.

I hear with wooden tracks you want your COG further back and to run with more toe.
And for the smooth aluminum tracks you want your COG a little bit further forward with less toe.
